Today I found my whole post on Quora. Well, my post was like 1400 words and they copy-pasted 1200 of the words exactly as they are on my page. Images and everything. However, they did cite me as the source with a link.

Why would anyone do this? I get that I would receive the traffic, but are there any other negative impacts to my website? Is this a blackhat negative SEO tactic? Is it a possible competitor trying to reduce my google ranking?

guess your content is good and answers the question. good job.

not a SEO expert but, with 1 link to quora? no way 1 link to quora will do anything. if it makes you uncomfortable you can disavow it, but i would say just enjoy the traffic.

If it's really showing your website as a source; it's a free organic link, you should be happy.

Haha, Ok guys. I think I should be happy about this then. I was just worried about the ability for the original content to rank i guess. Anyway, this has peaked my interest to find other duplications of my content on the web.

I Just found 6 of my articles on someone else's website. Their contact information is hong kong. They don't even post the category in the navigation bars. This category has about 700 other articles in it as well. I am guessing more content they stole.

You were the first one who published the content. Also quora and other q&a / social media websites are spammed.

I use small SEO Plagarism checker, an online website. But really all you have to do is take one or two sentences of your copy and paste them into Google search bar.

If your content was already indexed you have nothing to worry about. You should instead enjoy the free traffic, as Quora has millions of views each month. Also since your article is the original, that is what Google will give credit to.

That person did a research and provide the answer. He also link back you as win-win situation for both, nothing to worry about it.

That is actual White Hat SEO.

Buy the person who posted that on Quora a beer.

Haha, I would, if it was driving more than 10 views a day...

Thanks everyone. I don't know why I was thinking negatively about this. I should be honored! Instead, I go and jump on BHW and get all suspicious.

When I read some journeys on this forum, ohh boy. I can't sleep at night sometimes.
