Isn't it that we want multiple rotating proxies/IPs? Of course it wouldnt be a big deal to get some private proxy for $10/month...or install a proxy on my VPS.
But if i simply use ONE proxy i would simply replace my IP with another IP and have the same problem with possible temporary IP bans by google...and referrer spam from ONE IP?? And we dont want that for sure... Whether its my real IP or the one of my private proxy wouldnt matter really. Correct me if i am wrong. It would only make sense if we have a whole bunch of rotating, private proxy IPs
Now you see why it's not possible for me to supply everyone with high quality proxies like Market Samurai does, you idea won't work for reasons you just mentioned.
If i supplied private proxies to all ScrapeBox users, they would be on every spamlist within the hour, blocked from harvesting at Google, and slow as heck because ScrapeBox does around 10 comments per second on the fast poster.. times that by 100 users and i'm looking at 1,000 requests per second.
Simply put they would wind up worthless unless i invested $x,xxx per month in proxies for everyone, which for a $47 tool as a one time fee is most definitely not viable.
I'm always open for suggestions, however i think every possible option concerning proxies has been added to ensure you have plenty of choices to get a good outcome.
You can use no proxies, free proxies from within the tool, you can go out and find your own free proxy lists which are more reliable and import those, you can buy private proxies and, you can mix both free and paid this is your call but many options exist.
68 Private proxies from Proxybonanza for $16.99 a month, if you want more they have bigger packages or right here on BHW people offer access to private forums/lists where for a one time fee you get hundreds sent to you inbox daily.
I buy private proxies myself, i do not have a magic button to stream millions of quality proxies in to the tool i'm just not telling you about... I wish i did have one.
Furthermore.....i was checking a long list of sites for PR...and it looks it only used one thread/proxy for checking the PR?

Yes that's correct, when multi-threading is used when doing Pagerank lookups you get blocked very quickly.

A few thoughts - first, you mentioned (I think) in a post a bit ago that maybe removing the proxy harvester was a good idea. Please don't, IMHO. I harvest free proxies and use them sometimes for harvesting URL's, then use paid proxies for commenting. My comment success rate has gone from ~20% with the free proxies to ~60-70% with paid proxies. BUT I have bandwidth quotas on the paid proxies, so prefer using the harvested free proxies for scraping URL's.
Thank you very much, that is "exactly" what i do also and what i was hoping other people would do as well. Take the options provided, use them in ways to achieve the best outcome.
I don't want to remove the free proxies either, but unfortunately they take up so much of my time about 15-20 emails a day are about free proxies.. I even had one guy threaten a refund recently because "the free proxies are not real good" when they are just added as convenience to try and help folks out.
Many don't understand they are not great in the commenter, so it's frustrating when people use the tool in the worst possible way then complain that ScrapeBox results are not good when the tool totally excels at what it does if used correctly.
Question for you - when you rolled out the communal blacklist, I think I read a comment from you that using it was optional for users. I don't see how to opt in or opt out of it. I see in the .ini file an entry like 'blacklist=1' - does that opt me into it? I want to be in it, I think it's a fantastic idea, just not sure if I'm missng anything.
And speaking of the communal blacklist, if we get hate mail from a given blog for commenting, do you want us to send you the domain name? I'm not sure how you've structured the cloud blacklist, and I've no idea who bitched about me to packetflip to get me banned from using their proxies, but other than the occassional hate mail from an individual blog, I don't know who dislikes my commenting and who doesn't. Not sure where else you're getting data from, and just because blog X bitches about a comment of mine doesn't mean that blog X would bitch about a comment from someone else...so not sure what you think but would like to ask the questions about that.
There is an option under the "Tools" menu called "Submit Entries to Cloud Blacklist" which will open a ScrapeBox window to add the URL's and a reason.
With this i'd like to keep it to sites that have filed complaints to either proxy providers, hosts and that sort of thing.
This made me think of an interesting feature request. Can you get the native language of each scraped blog (I _think_ that's a publicly-exposed variable) and automagically translate a spun comment into that language if it is not English. I am _not_ asking for anything related to the earlier threads in here by a user requesting more enhanced non-English comment management (I don't think I am anyway, I just think it would be cool if when SB scraped a blog and deteceted it was non-English if it flagged it, and when trying to post to that blog, used Big G's translate API or something similar to spin the comment into the blog's native language). Just a thought that might enhance the app, not a sermon.
Not too sure about that. It's an interesting idea for v2.X so will have a think about how viable it is.
