Rank Your New Published App Easily

**update about new apps / new dev from end May**

It's good time to give you insight how things works now with GP algorithm and app rankings

What I did :
- good ASO research and put less repetitive keywords phases into description ( now metadata policy don't allow that , be careful )
- I tend to "bright up" my icon for app ( I don't believe anymore that ugly icon can attract anyone )
- I always do 6-7 images for screenshots and also for tablet ( 3 screenshots )
- If you're enough creative and have basic skills for video editing , make promo video with from 20 sec to 1 min max length

Marketing method and plan :
- From my previous project experience(s) I tend to do slow but projected marketing for my apps and I don't do any google ads, fb ads or incentives installs for 1 month ( from lunching app ) . I wait to see how much ASO gives result and to do some tweaks if it needs. When app(s) hit some organic traffic for play store ( around 10+ / 50+ installs ) it's time for second stage of marketing.

Carefully collected all methods and tactics which was suggested here on BHW , many don't work anymore because algorithm..

What I did ? I made costume method with combing reviews + app retention , with accent on retention.
GP Bot loves more your users with loner retention then bunch of installs or quick spike by Ads ( many experience ads limitation ) and slowly getting steady organic traffic .

Is it all above working ?
6 apps hits 1k installs , many hits 500+ installs , only doing what I wrote.

Consluon : For those who said " ASO is dead " - not truth , it hard to get organic traffic - not truth (its less then before but yet you can get ) , ads limitation came because grey-hat-method - not truth . I avoid to this point incentives installs /google ads.

What's new on Google dev now ?

-It takes again few days (maybe and more , have app on pending still ) to get approve app and be published
- Now your app need to collect 5 ratings to get visible on Google play
- Bot is pretty slow when you need to get first "5 ratings" , and many will be deleted , later its get easier
-Its more then ever strict about policies ... be careful about all details

Future plans :

Since its coming the most busiest month , I'll do few ads campaign to see how will affect on my top apps .

** This marketing plan its not for inpatient , get quick rich & tons of installs people :D
Thanks for sharing your experience ... my questions are :
- 1K in total or 1k per day?
- you say "Now your app need to collect 5 ratings to get visible on Google play" ... this is not logic!!!! and how they get their first 5 ratings if they are not visible?
- you say "put less repetitive keywords phases into description" ... how much you repeat your keywords?

Hello! Thanks for your update! I like it.

I would like to ask, what do you mean by now metadata policy don't allow that , be careful. If I keep keyword density under 3% that's ok right?

I would also ask you guys, if you think video preview of the app is important. I have an app with a video in the listing. The app has 20k downloads and the video has 100views on youtube. So either youtube doesn't count views coming from the embed at playstore listing, or that only 0.5% of my app users watched the video before downloading... which one can it be?

You mean waiting about month then start advertising??

1. Apps hit 1k installs on store not 1k DUA one app . I have much more in total DUA per day on this dev , its different approach to set a goal .
2. Maybe I wasn't explaining right manner : you will see in your dev console ratings but users on store won't , till you collect 5 rates . They put more difficulty on us , so this a reason why its everything slower as new app/ dev .
3.This very catchy thing .. you don't . I put a lot tests with "keywords stuffing" or " repetitive keywords phases " in description to see how bot react . Sometimes you pass , sometime they will require to reduce more .
Its advisable to don't push your luck ... that app won't pass review soon ( had this madness with one app , probably I piss off bot )

As mentioned above , its more about " repetitive keywords phases " , you can still nicely to blend into description , I did for example 20 times keywords mention in decs. and I pass review :D

And about video /yt views ... I think bro they stop to counting those views when they started cutting earning from those yt clips , I can't remember how much time pass from that announce ... you know that GP have always something new (shit rules) to reduce our earnings haha

Yt video is good choice for specific niches .. for example Personalization , Theme, LockScreen , Photography , Entertainment cat . (ex. games , edu games , edu apps , design apps or similar , ect )

Depending on your niche , video will be crucial to your app store optimization . Hope ti helps .

Yes, its my tactics at beginning . I only do ASO and observing how app(s) react on user base and on the store . And no , this can't be use as board method , its dependable on niche app and your long term goals.

@MofAges great post, thank you for your post and insight, i would like to ask you about how many days you wait to confirm the result of your ASO and make another change. And about how do you get the initial reviews ?
