Why can't my website rank?

The website rank depends on many criteria.
As you said that you copied content from other blogs. Google does not impose a penalty for duplicate content. But, it does filter identical content, which has the same impact as a penalty loss of rankings for your web pages.

Thanks for the feedback. I have seen a slight improvement in articles I have written myself. hopefully I will be re-writing the old articles one by one

I think you had been used low qualify backlinks which may be many duplicate Ips and also they had given you the low quality article to the backlinks. So you could add the valuable article and also try to use low competition keywords . It might help to improve your ranking

I have been managing my website for 1 year and 4 months. Starting as a naive blogger, I admit to copying few contents however I stopped that in my first 4 months and started writing genuine well written articles.
I admit to few copied contents however I stopped that in my first 4 months and started writing genuine well written articles. I read more about SEO and paid SEO services such as backlink and others on Fiverr as well. Despite the numerous efforts, my website doesn't perform. Sometimes looking at how much I have invested and wasted, I did feel to give up. What actually is the trick and can someone tell me what I am not doing right? Can anyone check my site? thenewsgod.com
your site seems to be ohky to me , i'm not an expert though , but you may be lacking seo details and keyword researches too, further i noticed that you have a little low loading website fix this if u can , last thing i wanna comment is check for penalty if there is any ,plus audit your website through free seo audit tool on the internet they will give you an idea where you r going wrong in here

I agree your assertion. My backlink profile is poor. I will work on!!

No high quality backlinks. The quality and volume of your backlinks are a strong sign of how trustworthy and reliable your website is. Search engines take this into account when listing your site in search results.

Thanks for the feedback. How will I know a backlink is quality?

I personally always prefer to go niche. Like drill it down. Find your core and passionate audience. It's a lot easier to compete for a smaller pie and see progress, and continue building off that, then going for big and not seeing much of anything, because you also loose momentum and feel discouraged. Success builds on success. But HUGE props on your consistency to maintain your content and site going for so long! That is something to be proud of. You just have to keep focus, and build off what has worked and ignore the rest.

Thanks mate. I won't give up and I will continue to strive harder as you suggested.
