Today 19/10/2020, the test ended, unfortunately.

I have waited for enough to see the results. Unfortunately, this came to be a big disappointment as the 2.5 mil link led my website to its coffin. (LMAO) I expected it, tbh!

So, what happened? You ask.

Short but enough: Test started on 3rd July 2020 and ended today, 19/10/2020.

Why did it end?

My website was a sell-to-buyer kind of thing. I was offering some of my services in exchange for $. At the end of August, the links started affecting. My main keywords were so up in the SERPs that I began to rank even for more keywords.

Everything happened so fast. It was crazy! They went up-down, and so forth that I got freaking bored of it.

16th September or so, my ROI literally exploded, managed to sell, make some $, and enjoy a short vacation because of that matter.

Well, 8th October 2020, my website got removed from the SERPs, making it inefficient in all the ways. Of course, I've decided to delete it as there was no point for me even to try removing the penalty(Too lazy to ask, disavow, etc.)

My suggestion if you want to use this method:

  • Use it on your tier 1/2 links. Why? It will pass the "juice," guaranteed.
  • I wouldn't use public GSA SER lists!!!!
  • Give it time; never USE this on your money site.

What have I learned?

  • Nothing comes easy; everything comes through hard work. (Sad but true)
  • I've gained more than I lost(Host + Domain; I write the content myself)
  • I got penalized(more accurately, the website did)
  • Try hard or go home!

My advice overall:

It was a great experience with downfalls, gains, and so much more. I will only advise you to use if you want a short term business(ROI).

Thanks OP for making this test.

This confirms what we would expect.

Churn and burn still works as google is (according to your test) still too slow (few weeks/months) to react.

Conclusion: you have discovered that is a bad idea to blast links to a money site?

Wasn't this completely known in the whole community from mid 2012 (aka Google Penguin?)

This test was conducted because you didn't trust the community or which was the purpose?

As I've tried to make people understand:

Worth but short -> I see this as a success. (Can't you?)

Purpose: Fun, ROI, New knowledge -> I couldn't care less about what the community tells me unless I do my OWN tests. Should I trust that your PBN will work? naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

I think of it as a disappointment because it could've last more, but let's not be greedy, eh?

There are people who rank this way, only that they're using small blasts at different times(e.g: 1k links blast today, 1k links blast in 3 months). So your conclusion is not completely right.

P.S: PBN isn't the way around it either ;).

I see your point, but this is awkward at the same time to reinvent the wheel. Maybe it can help you set your own testing framework for future tests if you found insight on the method (not on the results).
It's like the sciences class in the school, when they let you "test" and measure how the speed works. We all know how it works, but you conduct the test for the sake of checking it (and to learn the methodology of testing).

Conclusion: I've been more interested on what you exactly did, that on the results. It's always great to improve the testing the methodology by checking others methods. I have an insatiable bunch of test to conduct for next 6 months that have not been AFAIK proven yet, like this one

Yeah, you got some right, can't deny it. You can't "reinvent the wheel" with tires only, which is why you can explore it and build a different model ;). I, personally, see gaining knowledge above everything else(including the money). Unless I have an idea about what's going on, I don't talk. That's why I think people should mind their fingers(words) a bit more nowadays.

Do you know what's the worst of this situation? Nothing. I have GOT the knowledge, I know where it gets you, I know how to build a "different wheel" ;). FYI: There's always a way around things(Need to find it). Good luck with your tests!

Reminded me of someone in here blasted bulk links to a fiverr gig. It's not everyday we get to see stuffs like these. Great insight!

Don't listen to people saying it's known...

You can't be sure of anything until you tested your own method on your own websites. And here is it.

If you had listened to others, you would never have appreciated these moments, and these $.

Great insights, great test. Hope you enjoyed it with the same enthousiasm you wrote the OP !

Wow! Nice job op! I am also doing currently similar to this. But it'ts money site - web 2.0s - GSA blasts. Duplicating and repeat won't hurt as it pays real decent amount. Everything depends on what you on. I remember CPA days :D

I don't think people realize he was doing this as a fun experiment to see what would happen. It was very interesting to see the results of what happened.

I dont think linking to your money site is bad.

Just imagine if you scale the thing you buy a domain for 10$, with text autogenerated (or one own text) + hosting then blast 1m millions on it if it hold 1 month and you earn 5$ a day. You will earn 100$ per website per month * X website = boom, juste need to find keyword thay fit.

Then you automate the process

Great case study. It will be a living result of sending garbage links to money site. Now newbies know better what happens if they do that. Do not care about the comments mentioning we already know that.. Etc

Dude you ranked for "backlink" keyword category with gsa. Even for short term. That's OG and impressive

Great experiment GTI, I love reading about unconventional tests like this one.

I think there's a clear difference between someone who ignorantly blasts their site and then comes to the forum to ask why it didn't work versus someone who takes a calculated risk, accepts potential the consequences beforehand and then comes back to the forum to update everyone. You clearly fall in the latter, so I wouldn't take any of the criticism you might get in here to heart.

It seems that you enjoyed the experiment, got a trip out of it, and learned how to possibly apply a scaled-down version of it to churn/burn schemes or as T2 links - I'd definitely count that as a win in my books!

@ATuringtest is doing a somewhat similar experiment but using a parasite and fewer BLs - will be interesting to see how changing those two factors affects the outcome.

I'm certain you knew all these prior the test.
Glad you didn't run into a loss.
