Had my 18 year old personal Facebook get perma banned. (Aka my request to appeal was denied) which sucks because a lot of my business contacts are on it.
But whatever, it’s annoying but I don’t sweat it, I’ll just make a new one... so about a month later I make a new one. (New email, same unique handle on the email, but a different email provider) I also use a different phone number, but for the name I use the same name, (my name is somewhat common)
Anyways After I make the new account everything seems fine, and so I put the account down for the month to focus on other things in life, (Figured I’ll deal with it later) Fast forward 2-3 weeks later, & I go back to add an old friend and start to begin rebuilding my social media. (slowly but surely) but my one friend add won’t go through...
then, a half a second later a message pops up saying
“your account has been disabled, blah blah blah, if this is a mistake submit a web cam of your face from all angles”
so I do... but I’m somewhat impatient, and am betting they are still going to perma ban my new account regardless.
so I make a few burner accounts to test the waters and try to figure out how this is happening... I delete the cookies, the website data, I disable tracking and third parties, and Jump on a cheap VPN and make a few fake emails to the tune of “zuckthecuck@whatever” just to test the waters and see if I can deduce what tracking method they are using to know it’s me. (Aka the same guy they already banned over a month ago)
all the new emails are immediately flagged... despite having
-new, and wildly different names
-new emails/phone numbers
-different info
-VPN’s from different places...
Despite it all, it’s all immediately flagged...
How is Facebook figuring out it’s the same me? What can I do to make sure my new account(‘s) won’t get banned?
some things I have NOT TRIED:
-incognito mode
-static IP
I kinda have to get back on Facebook in some capacity and to do so by using my real name for work in about 8-12 months from now... I got some time. But I want to get back early enough to rebuild my contact pool for work and get back into a contracting Facebook group for work.
Can any of you awesome gents and gals help me figure out what protocols the service is using to flag/track me?
TL;DR: new FB accounts where immediately banned following my original, despite there being
No clear indication as to how FB is tracking/flagging me. Anyone know how Facebook is doing this? Or more importantly how to get around it?
Cheers
