Google releasing a large update today

Visit that website and take a look at their on-page SEO.
There are a few things to learn.
I can't do their link analysis as I don't have access to the paid tools. But if anyone has and has some extra time it would be interesting to see their link profile including anchor text.

According to google page speed insight that site has like a 42 for mobile and a 66 on desktop wtf!

Their DR is only a 27 according to ahrefs so I'm sure they are using some sort of hidden pbn.

I'm looking through their articles and they provide ZERO VALUE!

I'm guessing they are mainly ranking the site based off of pbn backlinks?

I 100% agree with it, totally ZERO VALUE. It's mind-boggling that shit like that ranks and someone who works their heart out to provide the best content is losing their ranking.

Dup content, quality content G is telling us all about ... it's all propaganda. Their 'how we rank' is a testament to it. The same text used across the website and only keywords are different. I guess they have ripped the page off the case study where someone ranked high using dummy text 'Lorem Ipsum' with keywords at the right place and instead of using 'Lorem Ipsum' they use English instead. To make G think it's legit.

As for their ranking, I think it's a combination of links and on-page. It's not a model I want to replicate, but as I said there are a number of things to pick on and implement on a white hat website.

I actually suffered a drop in rankings once I implemented ads from ezoic on my site although the load time was still decent around 3-4 secs. I've seen taken off my ads but my traffic dropped another 20+% yesterday.

It seems the massive drop due to the may algorithm update wasn't enough in Google's eyes. They want to finish off websites for good.

Google I am finding is full of shit.

They claim quality relevant content, good page speeds, quality backlinks, E.A.T, blah blah blah but it's all bullshit except for maybe quality backlinks.

That website has zero E.A.T, garbage super thin content that is nearly duplicates, and average to below average page speed scores yet it's ranking 1st for a tonne of KW's.

Google is just pushing more and more people towards using black hat tactics.

Especially in the context of "Fake News" there are some immense consequences on Google search. If you have noticed: Since Donald Trump was elected all this stuff with "Fake News" came up. Before 2016 no one gave a fuck about fake news and it was not actually a real term. Actually we can see all this weird stuff on Google happened since 2016, before the algo was way more predictable. You could make a nice website, great content and some decent backlinks and you would 100% start climbing the serps.

Not anymore.

Now it seems to me they try everything to prevent new websites to rank. They give a huge boost to high authority sites, which are already established. Thats why we see so many .edu, gofundme.com, Pinterest.com etc. websites starting to rank, even if the content is pure spam. Meanwhile new websites/domains are getting an algo penalty or being sandboxed for several months.

This is what frustrates me. No matter how much research you do, how well you structure your content, add your sources, add a bio, links and information about the writers, how well you design and optimise your site's UX, etc. When a site like that rocks up and kicks ass on Google. It just shows you that legit, whitehat SEO is nonsense.

I read somewhere that there is a company taking legal action on Google over it. They have really crossed a line with snippets; on their website it shows how to 'opt out' of snippets.

Google is like an Instagram model, so up their own ass they can't even see how unreasonable they are being.

Giving the searcher a quick and exact result is great and it is obviously their goal, but this is just not right. I also have seen many issues with snippets. I recently searched for 'Worldpay monthly costs' and there was a snippet outranking Worldpay's own website! The Worldpay website was ranking for a page that showed monthly costs; exactly what I was looking for. Yet a third party website outranked them with a snippet! What a joke.

This is starting to really make me depressed. One page is a perfect example, before May update it was about top of page 3, I was adding related content to the site with internal links to it. Since then it's been everywhere. dropped to page 7, then 12, then about a week/2 weeks ago back to page 2 or 3. Checked today, been slung back down to page 10. I keep saying it, there must be a filter that is now tripping as surely a page shouldn't drop 8 pages. Again, I haven't really done anything to the site since May and certainly not touch that page or added more content. I also don't think there is a single external link pointing to the page either.

No content other than shitty product description from aliexpress.

Rank no 12 on difficult KW (2 words). I thought it was a mistake. And many said,
this site soon will be voted out, after 2 months. still at 12.

Of course it's possible. All you need to do is block out the bot crawlers and it will show a lower DR score such as on Ahrefs.

I don't think a search engine should be in the hands of a company that manipulates the search result for their own financial gain. Well, from what I see google its all about their advertising. And since the epidemic, they have shown their true colors.
