Modern BHW Design Concept

The design was created from scratch taking current design as a wireframe. This isn't an official design and is just a concept of how BHW could look at the modern design.

Hello, this is just a sample and a quick design to fill my UI/UX Design portfolio. As I've stated, its not an official design.
 
damn this is amazing ,are you going to make extension where we can change bhw theme?
 
Looks good.

I want functionality to ignore entire threads, or maybe even categories, not have them in my "bhw newsfeed".

Someone released an extension just to do that here a couple weeks ago, can't find the thread tho

Dunno as a UX/UI designer you seem to have missed the boat. Although on first visual apperance it looks good you have actually limited the UI/UX and gone for visual over function.

The menu has gone removing the marketplace & advertising (which I assume is what generates income here) so now your costing the owner money by making it harder to spend, the side bar has gone as well so how as a user am I supposed to get around the forum.

It's OK making stuff look pretty but dont class yourself as a UX/UI when you just removed the entire thing in which your "title" is supposed to be about.

Thank you for your time to leave feedback regarding this. I'd definitely call myself to be a UI designer who makes appealing design and yes, I do agree with you that I ain't that much qualified in UX since I'm just starting off with UX.

Edit: As about the sidebar through which you could navigate should be there but isn't actually included in the design shown because I've not redone the whole long page. As stated above in my original post, this is just a concept.

Yes but you said it's a concept of how BHW could look...

No offence and I'm not nit picking but if you call your self a UI guy this is the definition of it:

The user interface (UI) is the point of human-computer interaction and communication in a device. This can include display screens, keyboards, a mouse and the appearance of a desktop. It is also the way through which a user interacts with an application or a website

So as a UI designer again concept or not, mock up or not you missed the boat. You would have been better off just saying im a "designer" UI is about User Interface. Nothing in that design (no offence) is offering a interface for the user.

Not trying to beat you up I was a designer for 18+ years and to a point for my own work I still am. I like what you done as a design BUT no way would I use UI/UX to describe that or tag your self as such with that design as it does nothing but offer eye candy.

I'm in no way offended by this. I admire people who've been in a similar field and have much experience then me. Thank you for your response.
