A lot of members here are talking about transparency. This is something I also think is needed on the forum on both ends. Too often, I see a lot of members say that they received an infraction unfairly, that they were banned for no reason, etc. The majority of the time, there was a valid reason, and in the cases there weren't, the action was taken by mistake. Recently, I've been humouring the idea that infractions and ban reasons should be made public for transparency purposes. Many of you already know that I want their to be more accountability and transparency from everyone, and I'm sure some of you remember I took this action on a member in 2019 because they were making a lot of unfounded claims about how they were "mistreated".

@Zwielicht is choosing to leave this thread open, maybe another mod would not have and therein lies the problem...
Forum suggestions and feedback threads are handled one of two ways:
- If we can provide an answer to the OP's question (e.g., How do I open a marketplace thread?), we answer the question and close the thread.
- If we can't provide an answer to the OP's question, the thread is left open for discussion purposes.
It's not my personal choice to leave this thread open, it's how we've been instructed to handle these threads.
I have had posts liked by multiple members then deleted by an anonymous mod because and I quote the reason "I don't agree with your crap!" Or sometimes no reason at all.
If you're not paraphrasing and this is exactly what a moderator send to you, then the details of that need to be sent to support so that the matter can be looked into. Moderators are not permitted to delete posts based on their opinions.
Problem with that is it is the police policing themselves, that is not an open and transparent way to do things as it always gets brushed under the carpet.
But most mods that ban something prefer to hide behind anonymity and when I inquire who my question goes unanswered. So how do you suggest I complain?
As
@BassTrackerBoats already said, there's a hierarchy here. This is explained in the "
[UPDATED] BHW Member Levels" thread.
- Super Moderator In addition to Moderator responsibilities, can review trader feedback, post ratings and likes and can review infraction appeals or complaints By admin and site owner approval
- Administrator Mod duties + Username changes Account setting changes (email, contact info etc) Restoring lost / forgotten / compromised accounts Review appeals or staff complaints By site owner approval
- Super Administrator Admin duties + Review appeals against infractions, warnings or a ban Appointed by site owner
To explain further, if there's an issue with a moderator, administrators are allowed to review appeals against moderator actions. If you have an issue with an administrator, you can contact super administrator (
@Diamond Damien) to appeal this decision.
In regards to someone trying to hide behind anonymity, this won't fly if there's legitimately an issue with someone abusing their position, as multiple moderators demonstrated in this thread.
