Facing Trademark Lawsuit

TO everyone that keep trashing about torrent etc etc.. Read the god dem doc.. They are chasing them down cuz they use FUCKING YTS!!!! And the only solid claims is that they are all torrents, this shitface who registered YTS, want to involve 3rd parties in to this and make money as an initiator of the whole drama.

So who are you if not a secret, only 3 names are said in the doc.

Also, @BassTrackerBoats has many knowledge about laws and shit.
I just proxy the torrent links. I dont even store them on my servers.

If the trademark is only registered in the US and it's a trademark lawsuit from what i get i would give a fuck.
A US trademark doesn't mean you can't open a "business" outside of the US with the same name and category

Are you the Serbian guy or the Indian guy.

Based on small research the Indian guy was hosting the site on AWS (which you were asking question about that.)

And the other guy from Serbia.. Man, you sound like one.
As long as I am not american, that should not matter. :)

You are still thinking of milking the site when you should be closing it down. There's a chance they will back off if the site is gone, but good luck with it still running.
It is not about milking the site. I regularly remove torrent links on DMCA requests. But this lawyer is another level of bullshit.

The point is.. If you are serbian (balkan dude in general) or Indian, you should not give a single fuck. Just shut down everything and get some coffee

I would not recommend you messing with such anti-privacy lawyers, they have really big budget and will do anything possible to track you down.
You can clearly read in the article that they managed to find out about a different person who hosted same website just like yours and sued him for $1million. Do you really want to risk your future and pay all your earnings to these companies ?

I was running a movie site about 10 years ago, just like you, I started it as a side project. It somehow became most popular movie site in my country, until suddenly big movie companies gathered up and paid for an experienced lawyer to take down every movie site in the country. What do you think happened? yup, all movie sites taken down in couple of months. Some even paid very expensive fines.

I sold my website to a person just before things started getting risky.
Few months after, they tracked him down somehow because he had couple of movie sites connected to him. They swatted his house with group of cops at 6AM, taking all of his computers and arresting him to take him into court by order.

It's really not worth it. If they have you on their list, it's best to let it down before it's too late.

Off-shore hosting that ignores these kinds of stuff + BTC payment + Fake info to registrar/hosting, etc.

They won't track you down.

If the website is hosted somewhere where US laws don't apply you can just chill drink your coffee and still watch movies on your on website.

Do you think it's so easy clap clap bam bam to get sued for 1mil $? Bruuuuh, calm down....

Idk about torrent and shit but for a movies site isn't the same.

Who has time for their bullshit

Can they take down the domain internationally?
are you using "yts" in your domain name? If not its almost impossible to take it from you. Its call reserve domain hijacking and the court system and wipo is very aware of that practice, It has been abused to death.
The method is that I register Blackhatworld as my trademark and then I try to hijack blackhatworld.com

Tell them your willing to take the website down on the understanding the situation finished .

you want a digital signed letter as proof from them to protect future come backs . .

what makes me laugh is the whole concept is illegal , but there trying to get you sued .

is this all real?

Yes, they can take down the website/domain.

Don't be too sure about not getting into trouble personally. I know a guy who was running a manga/anime website, he was living in the phillippines and now he is in jail in Japan. He got arrested when he was in the airport. If they want to get you, they will.

Do yourself a favor and close the site. Next time you make a site like this, you better make sure there is no way someone can trace it back to you.

Thank your for your advice. But when monetizing a website, are there any options of getting paid anonymously other than bitcoin?

bitcoin not anonymous

stelth accounts with fake info .

bitcoin can be traced to owner like any other currency

Dude, do not act like the proverbial fly that followed a corpse into the grave. I think you should shut that thing down, and move to a remote part of your country till the dust settles. Trust me, you don't wanna end up in jail, or be sued for $1 million. It's a NO NO!
