Google releasing a large update today

In the last 3 days of my e-commerce site, the traffic has dropped by more than 40%; some of the top 4 keywords in the ranking, some are not ranked, and the other part fell to page 2

Quite a lot of changes in my niche already.
Mostly big players (1,000s of articles, not necessarily great quality but decent) stay on the top or grow, plus some .edu sites appeared inside top 5 for several KWs, websites I've never seen even in top 10 in this niche before.

Another thing I noticed, almost all sites that occupy 1-5 positions for keywords in this niche right now run no ads or very little ads. Basically my website is the only one running more ads (which is a bit concerning, considering the nice income I've been getting from AdThrive lately :)).
Basically all other sites that were semi-heavy or heavy with ads dropped from top 10 completely.... this can relate to ads, but also to page load time since obviously with all the new technologies and GDPR and stuff ads take the longest to load...

My result so far: about 10% loss of traffic (comparing today to the same day last week). Let's see how things develop further on.
 
Everybody just #chill, current results mean nothing, as you're gonna experience Google dance in next few days or more. Actually it started 3 days ago on US sites, where I've been seeing drops of 30-40%, then rise of 50%, and now again everything tanked when compared to regular day last week). Today huge changes on international sites, mostly drop, but still not worried. It's sports niche, YMYL site, affiliate links (make sure it's nofollow and you should be fine). with almost no bought links (7 years old site).

Still need to check others, will make an update later.

Defintely waiting this out. I have a few sites in the health niche. 1 improved 2 dropped. another one slightly dropped but probably isn't noticble due to it not really ranking for high search volume keywords anyways. Waiting this out. Hope by the end of the roll out everything is positive.

I think that you're definitely right.
Main kwd on my new site was on 68 position
2 hours ago was on 108
Now is 96
Maybe tomorrow will be on first page lol
 
Site is 7 months old and just lost all of my first place rankings fuck sakes. I had finally beat out my competitor and know he's number one again with a bunch of shitty pbn links and literally has no content
 
I think this update is related to age and backlinks.

My older sites with a large backlink profile are largely unaffected. A few changes here and there but traffic is stable.

My newer websites under 18 months with no link building are decimated. I'm seeing massive drops across the board for all of them.

All sites use the same theme, interlinking strategy, plugins etc.

Almost 70% traffic gone on 1 site
30% on another

Keywords that were ranking in top 3 positions have gone to Page 6, 13, 22, etc. Featured snippets gone

All keywords dancing like crazy

I hope I regain rankings soon
