How Much Can This Site Be Sold?

In my experience, 25-35x monthly net earnings is the normal range. This is for sites with quality, original content - not spun or automated content.

I personally prefer organic search traffic over social traffic, as it tends to be more stable. I wouldn't even consider a site that depended on Pinterest traffic at this point in time.

I think it should be valued at around $10k. Anything above would be a bonus.

Valuation always depends on the stability and scalability of the business.
From my experience, similar sites are worth about 12x their monthly revenue.
Did you try another way of monetization or only A$?

I don't understand why the guys above say traffic source is important... Like, it doesn't matter if its from search engines or social media. Usually, sites are sold at a 25x-30x multiplier depending on the monthly revenue and age of the site.

So, in your case, a valuation of $10k to $15k is appropriate.
Yes it is important

So, if I posted in fb groups and make a 1k monthly do you want to buy my page for 10k?

If you buy it for 10k then you'll need to post in that same groups if you want traffic.

So wouldn't you make webpage yourself for $10 and post in groups?

I wouldn't mind paying 10k for that

People want to buy PASSIVE sites that get traffic from google for around 30x the monthly earning, that's the whole point to have passive websites if you have several. For this website to make money, you have to be active on social media. I wouldn't pay more than 50$ x 30 for this site, maybe more depending on the amount of followers on the social network. The social account is maybe what's worth some money here.

I'm trying to help a friend sell to some guys on Facebook(a flipping site group).

The site presently makes between $400 to $500 via adsense(display ads) monthly.
Also the site gets over 90% of its traffic from social media and the rest from direct, referral and search in that order.
So with these details available to you, how much do you think it can be sold and what multiplier?

400 to 500 via adsense actually " not bad " to be frank, a lot doing it can't reach this amount frankly honest speak for one , two years or even 3 with a new domain , etc stuffs to slowly rank , get traffic.

Your friend site actually how old? If only just one or two year is quite amazing.

I wouldn't mind paying 10k for that
But why, when you can make for 10 bucks and make the same amount.

This is not organic traffic.

I sold 3 dropshipping stored for 2k each. I made money on posting on my Instagram.

After 2 months all of the stores were closed... And why?

Because they don't have traffic

And I'm starting with fresh domains, and have traffic... Do you know why?

Because I have my insta.

Cheers

Will he also be selling the adsense? Because it's harder getting adsense approved on domains these days.

so basically you tricked buyers .-)
its important lesson to check traffic source for the pages/shops before you buy,

i have 2 good pages but its hard to build traffic source :-(, try to post in forums but its like 80 visitors per post so its nothing, hard to scale... damnit...
i have now around 30-80 visitors a day from posts in forums (one post a day in one forum) , and permament traffic around 20 people withut posting after first week of promoting it...

main problem: people are not going back next days, need to collect popup aprovals to send them popup message thorugh browsers, some will click allow allow i hope

Doesnt matter. The sites are assets that can be sold for a lot of money. The only thing that matters is that it makes money. 2k is nothing, man. Strive higher man. :p

we are buying investments like this, for us around 10-12x multiplier is fine. but you need to find maybe better if you want, its based on investors you will find... also support them with help little bit...

Does the website have any very relevant content? This can impact the price of the website.

Anyone who knows Adsense (never had account suspended or any site's ads disabled) would know that G00gle is extremely particular about its traffic sources.

I've had plenty of ex-Adsense website account holders who got their Adsense wings clipped because:
  • They were using arbitrage and "G" didn't like their traffic sources
  • *Their traffic came from Social media platforms which is low converting for the Adsense advertisers
It is a proven fact that arbitrage and social media platforms are low converting for Adsense advertisers.

And, that is why Adsense publishers are always publishing questions and concerns like this:

Would I purchase an Adsense based website that gets its traffic from Social Media? Absolutely NOT!

For Adsense, you want the BULK of your traffic (90% +) to come from G00gle SERPs.

10x15x if you sell with the social media. Because you cannot fully automate SM.

I've run a particular site for over 2 years which gets majority of its traffic from social media, throughout this period I've had just one adsense on the said site. I still have the site up and running ATM with the same adsense account.

So it's not always true that social media traffic is not safe for adsense, unless of course these users are forced to visit your site.

Moreover, I've not heard any adnetwork request your traffic be primarily from Google because it's obviously illogical and makes no sense since we know Google search is just one of the many traffic sources there are on the internet.

In fact some adnetworks would prefer you have a more 'controllable' traffic source long as they convert.

Conversion is all that matters and not traffic sources.

Sadly even if you have AdSense running right now in your website it doesn't mean anything, the new owner may get declined. It happened me twice now when I bought websites with adsense running and get declined when I tried to submit the application

If you provide social media accounts with the website, then yes the website can be sold for 20-30x.
If you provide only website then i would not pay more than 500$, since the main traffic source is social media.
When it comes to organic traffic you buy a domain and you also get the traffic, in this case you buy the domain and you don't know if you will still get traffic to your website.

Yes, it'll be declined. The website in my reply isn't the one in the original post. He has sold it already.

Also that I've had adsense on my site for this long despite driving purely social media traffic to it isn't a guarantee that the account won't be deactivated for whatever reason in the future.
