Question about Insta Cannabis accounts

I have several cannabis related Instagram accounts that seem to get warnings regulatory for posting pictures of marijuana. Problem is, I follow several other local accounts that post the very same thing and even openly advertises, and they don't seem to ever have their content deleted. I believe they're trust score is a factor and the age of their account but I was wondering if anyone else has experience with this issue.

Most of the cannabis accounts that I follow are not private. Does having your account private provide you more protection? I'm in the US so it's legal in some areas and not in others.

As far as I have seen yes, since only a select group will be able to see it. I know a lot of meme accounts do that to protect themselves. But that means you gotta approve each new follow.

I have a client how was selling marijuana using Instagram + Website (I Have Developed). He got a warning, then he changed the Location (Where Legal) & Made the profile privet after there was no problem.

check your hashtags for banned hashtags. most hashtags which container 'weed' will get you a warning. I stoped using any banned hashtags and never had a problem after. Also being in a legal state or country makes it more safe

I have several cannabis related profiles on IG as well and yes that’s the name of the game. They will block you periodically when you post pictures of buds. My accounts with higher engagement and following never got one warning. My less active ones always gets dinged.

My advice is to stay away from pictures of buds and stuff until you build up good following engagement and trust. Hit me up if you want more pointers

YESSS we see this as a huge issue in our industry. Going private helped a little bit but one of our accounts still got banned. I still have not found a good solution for this problem yet and this affects everyone in our industry including some really high profile insta canna accounts.

Also this. Try to post something related to the niche but nothing compromising. Do this for a period and then after you pick up a follower base 1000-2000 followers, start using buds and stuff but keep posting also old posts as well and build that up till you post only weed posts or related
