I believe in order to be good at writing, you need to be gifted. That's what I think.
Take an accredited English literature course. Those force you to read and then write tons of essays.
What do you suggest Sir?And slowly drain your life force![]()
Just keep this in your mind and keep on writing. There is no such thing as good writing, There is only effective writing.
cheers!!!!

Yes, you can.Of course, it depends on your quality of work...
Also, I'd suggest you learn how to use the Multi Quote Reply on BHW because, we prefer that instead of replying to each member in 1 post.

Identify a few writers(not more than 2) whose writing style appeals to you and contact them for writing tips. Also find out if they have paid writing courses and enroll. This will make them more committed to mentoring you.
Good luck.
Find some really good articles that generated results and reverse engineer them. Like how they are structured, how they keep the visitor reading, how long a paragraph should be, where to insert a funny or unexpected image to keep the reader's attention hooked, stuff like that.
If there is a topic that you're kind of familiar with, consider writing in that niche. This way you can deliver more in-depth articles with less time spent on research because you already know a lot about it. And maybe you can even charge more for specialized knowledge, especially on freelancing sites. E.g. if you like electronics, try to market yourself as an electronics niche writer.
And of course, read and practice writing as much as you can.
Good luck!![]()
Model after writing types you like and appeal to you. Focus on the content, not the keywords. Then start practicing.
Hello.
My name is Israel, from Nigeria and I will love to make money from writing. I have tried different content Mills but haven't gotten a job yet what do I need to do to improve my writing skills and also get clients? Please help me out.
Thank you so much sirRead. Read and read some more. The more you read, the more your style of writing will develop, as will your vocabulary. If you plan to target a particular niche, like travel for example, read lots of DECENT travel books, something like Michael Palin, and develop an inner voice.
Best advice I can give to any aspiring writer.
In my opinion, reading really helps you improve your writing skills as much as writing. After writing and reading your content you will find mistakes and improve them. Nobody writes a perfect content in one sit, you read it again and rewrite it by fixing the mistakes. Eventually your final content will become better than you first draft.
To improve your writing:
Good writing sources (people that I like how they write):
- Read similar content and analyze how they write it (for example, long-form Wired articles usually start with setting up a scenery/environment: "On the xx of January, on a cold night in Berlin, the famous hacker... "
- Before writing create a list with your goals (what you want this post to teach, what language/tone should you follow) - write this down and check at the end if you followed it.
- Before writing create your paragraph headings list
- Use short sentences and try to explain in simple words as talking with a kid.
- Backlinko (he writes quite well)
- Waitbutwhy blog (a long-form blog but with a fast-pace tone)
- Wired long form articles
Make a list of points.
Write more often. In fact, everyday.
