Any Tips on becoming better at writing?

My name is Israel, from Nigeria and I will love to make money from writing. I have tried different content Mills but haven't gotten a job yet what do I need to do to improve my writing skills and also get clients? Please help me out.

One simple rule to get better at writing or pretty much anything - Practice, practice and more practice.

The more you write, the better you will get. Some might say if you keep writing the same way, it doesn't help you improve and stuff like that. But when you write about different topics, you need to research more. And when you research more, you read more. And when you read more, you learn more.

And when you learn more, you write better.

Just to add to this excellent advice, get yourself a grammarly account and run everything you write through it for a few months and pay attention to everything you get wrong.

Practising plus constant amendment and learning what you commonly get wrong will quickly eradicate most of your mistakes as you'll naturally know what to write.

You'll be surprised at how much of an affect slight changes to your writing style will improve your readability.

Even little things like changing you are to you're, I am to I'm and is not to isn't really make a difference.

Grammarly will help with a lot of this, you can get year long accounts on here I think.

Read a lot. Most will call this counter-intuitive, but you have to read more than you write.

If you see a particular style of writing you like, read the shit out of it and others passages like it until it influences you so much you can write (and talk) like that.

Then you read it some more until it becomes natural. Then start writing and reading and writing and reading. It's a long process, but it's the best way.

Get a day job that doesn’t suck, there is nothing harder to do than to sit down to write after a day so exhausting that your brain has turned off. This is the job you are going to be having for a while, so make sure it’s something that doesn’t make you want to open a vein rather than go to work.
