Ask me anything about Facebook Ads 2019

Are image ads still feasible for drop shipping products or only videos gain you success properly?

Images definitely can work but in general videos are going to do better. They can communicate the value of the product better, tell a story, and FB/IG generally prefer video content nowadays

Hi, how to create precious audience?
For instance, I sell equipment for cafe's (roasters, grinders, beans).
If I input that terms as interests, adding small business owners, its still very blurred audience.
Many people do not indicate their positions, ownership at FB pages.
Any special tricks for that?..

Which vcc can I use for fb ads? Fb didn't accept the ones I've tried. Can you recommend any, preferably one that's free and will only require depositing funds in the account. Thanks

Facebook knows almost all the major ones and bans the account quickly even if it goes through. Better off just getting (legit) cards in your own name and using them.

I want to register with a legit company in my name. I'm thinking of Revolut, it's reputable, I think? I just don't want to use my plastic, isn't there a way even if it's in my name

Hello brother, thank you very much for helping us newbies with facebook ads!
I am going to launch a shop selling my own products (healthy niche) with a friend of mine.
We are going to film a video for advertisement (i will appreciate any tips on what we should include in it for higher conversion), we also have blog, and some pictures of our products.
From your previous answers i understood that most likely, if done correct, video will convert the best, what do you think about pictures and blog? Should we put money into advertising blog and gather some engagement or just advertise more pictures trying to get sales?

Thanks for your answer in advance!

Don't bother with advertising a blog, waste of money

Do video > straight to purchase

I have access to a handful of different credit cards. They are all in my name or my wifes name. If I start adding them into BH ad accounts, will FB pick up on it? Do they need to have different billing addresses or be in different names or does FB only look at the card number itself?

Pretty sure that FB just bans the card rather than the address/name so you should be good.

What I mean is this, will FB accept a VCC that is my name, if it's issued by a reputable finance company like Revolut

Don't think Facebook accepts any VCCs

I got a big dataset of customers which bought a certain product.
Now I am thinking about starting an own shop in the same niche with the same products and showing the people from my dataset ads for the products has already bought again, but from my shop (the products are consumable).

Can you give me some tipps how should I set up the ads?

Title says everything ;)

I currently manage $50,000/month in ad spend for a variety of clients. Mostly ecommerce and lead gen for blogs and service providers. Happy to help however I can :)

Hi, I have some difficulties with promoting one particular site, it is European clothing wholesale eCommerce. I've done plenty of FB ads in the past with great success in the same niche just retail but when it comes to B2B I find it very hard to specify audience. Hope you can help me here, Thanks!

That's basically exactly how you do it... Start with 3-4 different ad types (videos and carousels) and see what works best. How many people are in the dataset?

Would need more details. What kind of B2B decision makers are you trying to reach?

I think there are over 100.000. So should i may filter these people? For example people who buyed something in the last X weeks, or something like that?

Yep exactly... That's a big enough ad set you can use really recent data (last 7 days, last 30 days, etc.)

Hey mate, highly appreciate taking your time to help us out!

I recently made an ecom store, ran a campaign with 8 adsets and 4 brought me 9 sales ( 1-> 1 sale; 2nd->3; 3rd->3;4th->2)

I duplicated the adsets that brought me the most sales and i got another 7 sales ( some adsets 1 others 2).

At this point i was almost at breakeven but things started to slow down, i wanted to scale, horizontally and vertically, a new 40$ adset though brought me the same amount of sales as a 7-15$ one and it all went downhill from there.

My quick questions are
1. Do you consider these adsets could still be lucky sales? (all adsets have the same creative, just different interest)
2. I started with Engaged shoppers on, without expand audience - these worked in the beginning, could these being off on new adsets be the reason for no sales?
3.I started with targeting only 1 state from usa and it worked(luck?), what's your take on targeting 1 state vs the whole usa regarding the # of people, the lower adset budget the lower the # of people i should target?
4.If i go back to the original campaign and revert all changes to the first ones, will it perform the same or is the campaign messed up and i should start a new campaign with same settings as the one that initially worked?

Thank you!!

1. Unlikely. What's a more common issue is that you've scooped up all the "easy" buyers for a product, and then you'll have a harder marketing to a more broad audience
2. It could be, but I wouldn't think it's a huge issue. I almost never use expand audience
3. Definitely can work if it's a super niche product and you don't need to rapidly scale. In general your budget is heavily dependent on your audience size. For every 10,000 people in an audience you can generally have a $10/day budget, max. So if an audience has 200,000 people the max you can spend it on per day is about $200/day.
4. Not guaranteed to work the exact same. This is why it's better to duplicate campaigns/ad sets when making changes so you can switch them back. Editing ad sets and campaigns resets the learning phase.
