Does anyone have any suggestions on a good free or cheap competitor keyword analysis tool (Aside from google) that would functions something like spyfu?

Ahrefs all day long. It is expensive but you can get a 7 day trial for $7 which is enough time to do all the research you need. :)

SEM Rush imo, you cannot cut corners on free inexpensive tools these days if you want results bud...

Free - Ubersuggest by far. Backlinko has a great article on how to use it to it's maximum. They keep adding new abilities and metric every couple months.

Paid is AHREFS trial of $7 for 7 days.

There are some SEO tool sharing programs for 10-20 dollars a month and you get like 30 SEO tools. They have downtimes and obviously sometimes the accounts will run out of searches ,but then they add new ones. So for the low price it could be worth it.

ubersuggest, we wrote a very short article about it here: https://www.smartseoservice.com/l/why-you-should-use-this-free-keyword-tool/

Most cheap/free tools don't have this for a simple reason: they new a huge amount of crawling.
Semrush, although is highly recommended, is not cheap.
Spyfu is the cheapest you will find that makes this possible
Even Serpstat which is fairly cheap (with the $49 Appsumo LTD it helped me kickstart my agency), now is expensive compared to Spyfu

That is why it is best to use something like Ubersuggest paired with the free daily limits from Spyfu, Moz, SemRush, keywordfinder untill you get some profits from your website, then you pay for the big boy tools and really go hard.

I think SERPstat is cheaper compared to Semrush and Ahrefs.

There are many free keyword ranking tools in the market place which helps SEOs to find Keyword rank. like,

Semrush

Google Keyword Planner

Woorank

Ahrefs

OP , there are tons of options Ahrefs and SEMrush both being excellent choices but SEMRush would take the cake for me. You should not be concerned with cost unless the tool's benefit does not outweigh the result achieved by using such tool. If your venture does not cover tool costs than I would choose perhaps a different venture. Best wishes on your decision

There are many tools but I suggest ubbersuggest. It gives you very unique keywords ideas.
