The ULTIMATE Checklist For Perfectly Optimized ONpage in 2020

No one tell me about this, nice share
Hoping you guys keep share something like this

Awesome guide. The only thing I partially disagree with, is posting thousands of words. Post 5-10k only when it makes sense. (for example, when the top spots have a lot of content).
Posting thousands of words can help rankings, but if the content quality is crap, it won’t convert sales.

Hey guys,

I using exactly the same checklist we improving our client websites and our own websites.

I covered all, from title tag to conclusion so you can make your website and your articles just perfect for 2020 and coming Google algorithms.

If Google changes something in 2020 I will make an update but for now, this checklist will be more then enough to boost your site rankings drastically.

Let's dive right in.

1. Title Tag - Start With Your Keyword

Title tag is the most important on-page SEO factor.

To get the most of it, try to put your keyword at the beginning of the title tag (keyword for title tag in this case; On-page SEO).

-sX4voasqxBefYmNMmwTV2Jkse9-KyHJj-0nC3ptQp4iZfojmLKXgzyMbKMfTxkkOYWiCjR6Tx3GykyUIiOr5vZVlk41HoH03W-8m_et8aC2sh_HczIbd7ayJSNca_RbAZaxYnPZ

You can see this in action. Let's take "low carb diets" keyword;

CpZlA5R

As you can see, most pages that ranks for competitive keywords strategically placed their keywords at the beginning of their title tag.

If you want to get ranked for "your own" keyword, you should follow these steps.

- Title you should use: Low Carb Diets Tips; 5 Ways To Lose Your Pounds

2. Seo Friendly URL

Google uses your URL as a clue to help them figure out the topic of your page.
It's actually the same as title tag and content.

So, try to make them easy for Google.

First of all, try to avoid URL's like this: https://site.com/p=123 (this one doesn't say anything actually)

Try to avoid long and meaningless long URLs like this one:
https://site.com/3/9/19/urs=SEO/pageid=890.html

- The winning combination is a short URL (with medium tail keyword URL) which ranks better according to many case studies:

Your title ideally should be 50-60 characters. That’s the best practice for the highest CTR.
Try to fit all, including your site name at the end of the line;

- Magnetic Word In Description Tag

We already discussed the above magnetic words. Just implement in description tag.

It’s true that Google probably doesn’t use description tag a direct ranking signal but it will certainly improve CTR.

- Keyword In Description TAG

It’s the same it was for the title. Try to add your keyword at least once or twice in the description tag, at the beginning and at the end of the description tag.

4. Wrap Your Title In H1 Tag
Make your headline Tag H1.
WP and other CMS’s automatically do this for you but you can check your code and see if that’s the case.

5. Add Multimedia Content In Your Post

We are visual beings and sometimes articles without multimedia content can be boring to read which means a higher bounce rate.

Add images, screenshots, lists, and videos.

Adding multimedia doesn’t have a direct effect on your page’s rankings but it increases the perceived value of your content.

6. Subheadings In H2 Tags

Subheadings will make your readers easier because your article will be nicely split, especially if you have longe article, 5.000-10.000 words.

Try to add your main keyword in, at least one of your subheadings. That also applies to H3 tags.

7. Keyword In The First 100-150 Words

Add main keyword in the first 100-150 words of your article and help Google to understand what your post is all about.

P7u4eTM

8. Keyword In The Last 100-150 Words

It's very important to add your main keyword in conclusion or simple to add in the last 100-150 words of your article. That will give Google an additional note of article relevance.

Up72OKp

9. Responsive Design
Don’t forget to make your website responsive, which means nicely visible for all devices.
That will certainly increase your traffic.

3qn9YCi

10. Use Outbound Links

Google wants to see your site activity on the web, and backlinks pointing from yours to related pages.
This will possibly affect your site so try to put links from high authority websites.

vatqmyT

11. Internal Links

Interlinking your pages and make sure to make a good scheme. That’s money and power to other pages also.

dypWh1v

12. Site Speed

Site speed is officially ranking signal and you should take it seriously for your website.

Try to compress images, pay for better hosting and use CND to speed up your site if needed. Everything below 5 sec is good to go.

Try to achieve it.

lAStKXj

13. LSI Keywords

LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) keywords are synonyms that Google uses to determine a page’s relevancy (and possibly quality).
Put them into every post.

I personally use https://lsigraph.com/, free and really useful tool.

pd8kU7a

14. Image Optimization

Optimize your images. Alt text with your keyword.
Make sure at least one image file name includes your target keyword.

Zoa1BbO

15. Social Sharing Buttons

Social signals will not directly improve your ranking but if people like your content they will gladly share, which means traffic and potential links.
So, don't forget to put the social icon box on your website and every post.

tVpL5lD

16. Post Long Content

Try to post at least 2000-5000 words.
In my experience, 5.000-10.000 words content will do the magic.

5BHFN5G

Longer content ranks significantly higher in Google.

17. Boost Dwell Time

- If Google sees people bouncing from your page in the search results, it’s a clear sign that your site
is not proper quality for final users.

If that's the case, your keywords will start dropping.

To prevent that, add internal links to the beginning of your content.
This is one of the fastest ways to decrease your bounce rate.

18. Dwell Time
- Google pays very close attention to “short clicks” vs. “long clicks”, also known as dwell time.
So, if someone stays.
If someone hits their back button immediately after landing on a page, it tells Google, that page is low quality.

I hope you'll enjoy it! And That's Not All!

wow this is one hell of an amazing post. This will definitely help a lot of beginner seo people. Or people who have doing seo wrong for years.
I don’t personally do seo. Just ads and social media. But with this amazing post I could totally get into doing seo if I wanted.
Nice to see posts like this. Stuff that actually helps people.

Thanks :)

tl;tr bookmarked. Will look into later

Sure, thanks :)

Too good loved it thanks

Thanks :)

Great share! Here is my experience: Every niche has a different optimal keyword density etc. its very easy to get over-optimized. Especially when it comes to meta title and description. Sometimes I had my keyword in the meta title, removed it and the website got a push in the serps...like the kw in the meta title was holding it back from ranking...there is no magic formular for this. For example: Hey man, just put your keyword in the meta title, description, first sentence of the content and h1 and you will rank, nope you will very high likely over optimize.

Clickbait not only works on Youtube, but also on Google. Definitely use numbers and power words, they are triggering the users. If you want to know how to use it: Take a look on Buzzfeed. These guys know how to generate traffic and get a high CTR.

Sure but it's not all about meta title, description, and other basic ONpage optimizations. And yes, there's some kind of "magic formula" but I will write about that in one of my next posts.
It will be about article optimization. So, observe this like only one piece of a puzzle and there's always more.

And if you do all good and without overoptimizing, you will be able to rank your keywords.

I did this on a new site of 15 days without ONE single backlink and my site showed directly ranking posting 6 of my main Keyword

Great to know. Keep it up :)

That an awesome onsite SEO guide. Thanks buddy.

Thanks a lot :)

Thank you for the great guide! The only thing that I do differently is the length. I check how long the stuff is that already ranks and go from there.

Blog post length is matter but the most important part is your content actually and what you can present to your final readers. If you have some amazing and actionable tips on how people can make their life's easier, don't be bother with a number of words, because you will have a lot for sure.

Will send this right to my coders. Great read from a web developer standpoint and more people should look at this.

Thanks:)

Awesome guide for on-page SEO. Focus on the CTR and page speed.

Thanks :)

Bookmarked! Great share OP:)

Sure, Thanks :)

Damn, I'm actually impressed. Didn't agree with all of it, but really great advice overall.

Thanks a lot :)

Great guide overall and thank you @marrrko for the share. Just to emphasize what @nakamura said - every niche is different. Get SEOQuake plugin and check the densities ( and also how long their content is - why write 10 000 words when you only need 2K?:) ) of the sites that rank top 10 and proceed accordingly.

Every niche is different but there are many mutual things for all niche and I will write about that in one of my next posts.
And sure, if you can say all in 2000 words, let it be. :)

This is amzaing. I've been looking for something like this for a very long time. Really love all the examples you guys provided. I take it you are in the business of helping your clients with their on-age SEO efforts. What's your typical monthly fee?

Thanks :)
Depend on the type of site but usually around $1k per consultation and work to fix all, ONpage, articles, homepage etc.

In regards to #1 "Start With Your Keyword" and #3 part 4 "Add Magnetic Word In The Title Tag" would it negatively affect my ranking to use a magnetic word in front of the keyword on the page title? I understand it is good for CTR but I am curious how Google will react.

Yes CTR will be good but even better if you can put your main keyword in front of everything. If doesn't fit for some reason, you can always test and see what will happen with the strategy you want to publish.

amazing post

Thanks :)

Thanks for the share, have you any experiences using emojis on page titles?

I do for a select few posts and have seen great CTR.

I didn't try honestly, but seems like a good fit :)
Thanks for your input.

Awesome guide. The only thing I partially disagree with, is posting thousands of words. Post 5-10k only when it makes sense. (for example, when the top spots have a lot of content).

Absolutely, if it doesn't make sense, of course, you won't make your post 10k words. But if you are 1 man company and you want to fight against big magazines (for example), your only chance is to make ultimate articles full of useful tips, tricks, multimedia and articles you are going to update at least ones per year.

I mean, it all depends on your strategy but in general, more words (with sense) = better rankings

Most of the recommendations are from RankMath.
Magnetic word = Power word :p

Anyways, nice guide.

For those who want to check most of these automatically, try RankMath.

Sure, Rank Math is awesome, no doubt about that. My learning sources were a bit different though. :)

Thanks :)

Nice share!

Thank you for the great guide!

Lol...he just rewrote backlinko guide. It is so lazy, he even used the same examples.

Google Backlinko on page seo if you want to read the original.

Some people just have no shame.
