New website testing Pinterest traffic

I had no luck with Pinterest marketing unfortunately.
I have 8,806 Followers but I did not include rich pins and my ctr is bad.
High quality traffic can be driven from Pinterest, from my google analytics stats I can see only low bounce rate.

Interesting. Were you pinning product images, blog posts images, infographics, or videos?

I used to have IFTTT account connected with subreddit. When new post was added to subreddit it would automatically post new pin to Pinterest.

My suggestion is to create high quality content and focus on SEO. I get most of my Pinterest visits from people sharing images from my website.

Day 8

Just a small update. Seems like either Pinterest is having problems or my account is having problems. It says my impressions for the past 2 days have dropped to 0 but when I check my pins it shows that they are getting views. I have noticed less activity alerts though. If anyone else is seeing problems, please comment.

Published 5 video pins and even received a website click on one already. The reach for video pins far exceeds my photo pins. I think this is because video pins are not only more engaging but Pinterest also allows you to add an actual tag to your videos so you don't have to wait for seo to take effect. Going to experiment a lot more with video pins. I was planning to halt my spending but I will likely order more products to review and take footage of, so I can test further. Need to wait though and see if Pinterest fixes itself.

I went ahead and signed up for Amazon affiliate because they have a lot of low-cost items that I can get fast and make videos of. However, I need to add more informative content before sending traffic. I don't want them to review my site yet. I have 18 articles so far.

Yeah, I have the same issue, I contacted them and they've said that it's a problem on their end and they're trying to fix it.

Small update. Still writing articles. Almost to the point where I feel comfortable trying to signup to Shareasale. Still, just the one website click from Pinterest but the impressions for videos are climbing. I think testing different style of videos will be key. Signed up to Tailwind. Joined some tribes and have content scheduled to be repinned. Interested to see if it helps. Some pages are indexed in google, hope to see some ranking in a few weeks. Also, expanding my social media posting to Facebook and my own subreddit this week. Ordered some more cheap, but good looking items to do more Pinterest videos.

Just wanted to give an update to this thread. Pinterest started well but my original content reach is so random that I've abandoned it for now as the main method. I still post to Pinterest but images get virtually no traction. It might be my account. Videos still perform the best though. My repins get a ton of impressions and sometimes go semi-viral but I can't get my original pins to do the same, consistently. However, the site I've been doing this journey with is ranking in google for some nice keywords so I'll stick to seo and content writing and just crosspost to Pinterest with little effort. I haven't seen a return on the videos I've made so I haven't made more, but if the site starts making a profit I probably test again.

tl;dr - Just wanted to post my personal conclusion : Pinterest is a supplemental source of traffic which, for my content, proved too inconsistent.
