Income School Philosophy: A Scam?

Everyone knows they talk about building no links, right? Loads of content? Loads of B.S.

Here's the website they have been working on for the last year.

Two relevant referring domains: the dailyshep.com (2000+ do-follow links), visualizepicture.com (80 do-follow links but not relevant), and snakeowner.com (350+ do-follow links, which was the actual domain it was 301-redirected from)

So, they don't build links, right? What's more... look at the growth of their links.

I don't think they are being honest at all.

There are many people here who would disagree with this, perhaps.

But I have a very strong suspicion that something sinister is going on.

They are not as "honest" as we believe them to be.

Here they actually say links are Googles number one ranking factor. It's towards the end of the video, 31:05 to be exact.

Their thing is focus on content before links. But they know they can't rank without backlinks.

Am I complaining about their method? Nope, almost every successful website owner sooner or later does it. But they are probably not saying it outright like Matthew Woodward or the likes.

On top of that, this was NOT a complaint. It was meant to be an eye-opener for those who believe in their philosophy.

Absolutely, I think they are trying to take a unique angle to their marketing by telling people how easy it is to earn money just by creating lots of content and gain natural links to that. Unfortunately, they themselves are not "walking the walk".

Yes, it's not possible. Very recently, I also checked camperreport.com and it's the same with that website as well.

They are not revealing their real SEO strategy, unfortunately, even when you pay them $499 it seems Maybe someone who took the course would be able to clarify if they do talk about such link practices in there.

I think its both BUT that's said if you write something and it gets found and shared naturally then the links come with it. You can keep writing long tail or user specific questions and rank for it with little to no effort. Which is what they are actually promoting.

Finding what people are looking for, check the competition on it and write content. If enough people come it can turn it around ($$) people will share stuff they find interesting anyway. I think that's what that course is aimed towards more.

The more you rank and get clicks through / traffic and it's retained on the site for the longer tail stuff the easier it becomes when you aim for the more specific things.

I don't think those guys have ever said. Write 30 x articles on money and you will rank 1. It's all about going to find the little gems missed within that subject.

they never said dont do back links they said follow their method for 24 months see if it works(its to prevent noobs from buying shitty backlink services that makes google penalise your new site) if you buy spammy backlinks from fiver and ur site does not rank you wont be blaming the spammy back link seller you would be blaming income school method for not working, unless you are an expert who know your stuff highly likely you are going to outsource your backlinking of your site

That's what the OP is talking about. When you take a look at all their vid. They talk about content, content, content.
Even with the best content, if you don't build links you will go nowhere.

Yes, you are absolutely right. I totally agree with what you are saying. But, do you see something in your comments? You use a lot of "they are not saying..." But they are really "not" saying the truth, that's the point.

We, as consumers, go to several forums like BHW and maybe others, watch their YT channel where they talk about targetting long-tail keywords and keep creating quality content for two years...and try to justify or kind of create our own strategy somehow.

First things first, they advise NOT building links but does that link profile look organic to you? They are building links. That's okay. My question is, did they ever come out and say, "Yes guys, we build links like this, and it is working. You should too."? Nope, why not?

You are saying, it is to protect the newbies from getting scammed and wasting their money on worthless links? Come on, better reveal where you are buying the links from...won't that be a better solution?

Yes, they are big names in the niche blogging world. And they have the trust and faith of people. I just don't think it is okay to dupe (I would use this word because they are not only keeping their best "secret" to themselves but also charging hundreds of dollars in the process) innocent people who are trying to make a few dollars online.

Having said all this, if you are a die-hard fan of IS, that's okay. I just wanted to share the truth here for those who are interested and direly need it. That's all.

But you can rank without links. Get a domain name. Set it up on WMT, put a bit of content on it and get indexed. Once indexed google your domain name.

Is it listed? Yes, without a backlink? Yes.

Will you get traffic - most cases no.

So you can rank without a link... all they are saying is to do the same but with topics that answer the questions for the user. The traffic maybe small but that's all you need if you can do that for 30-50 posts with 50-100 searches a month that soon ads up..

I've never ran or sat down and do what they say. I do a fair bit of guerrilla marketing that involves targeting phrases only a specific person would search for and I rank fine with no backlinks..

As I said it's down to the context. I don't think they are saying rank for money by writing for money without backlinks as that's not going to work.

I get what you are saying. But they are not claiming to go off and try to rank no.1 in some super hard niche either in fact I think in most of the videos and tutorials they show about ranking they say it won't work. And there have been videos saying recently you do need links if you want to go and rank for X.

BUT that isn't what they are selling or promoting. They are showing you how to find long tail or specific user searches and rank for them.

Dude, you do know at the end of the day they are still marketers trying to convince you to join their course/forum right? why would they outright tell you their secret sauce so you can replicate it and not pay them any $$$? They are marketers, not saints don't expect too much from them. Just because 1 guy is fat and jolly and the other guy likes green curry dont make them any less of a marketer (They also kill bears for fun). I'm sure they already have given you enough free value to the point you are questioning yourself (IS THIS THE MAGICAL COURSE THAT WILL MAKE ME RICH ?) and that if you should buy their course, to the point for you have to stalk their website and check if they have backlinks to call out their bullshit here in hopes its an echo chamber.

Hence, unless you are saying you joined their course and saw their forums and none of them mentioned about backlinking inside, I don't think you should be calling them a scam.
Read in between the lines, take whatever value you can get from them and combine with your own knowledge and know-how and make your own Philosophy and sell it as a course.
