Hello, it's time for my monthly post.

I'm looking for advice and/or change in my technique regarding an attempt to sell some art online. The artworks are quite expensive.

I watched a number of online classes and did a fair bit of research on this forums and others regarding facebook campaigns, ads, boosted posts and overall social media marketing. I finally have the cash stack to create some ads and I'd like to run my ideas by you before I do something terribly wrong.

I have a facebook artist page with a fair number of followers (3000+). I'm thinking of creating a campaign to try to sell one of the catalogs of the art by creating an ad (I'm still considering between banner or video) targeted to London and America (mainly on the shore starting from Miami). It just seems to me that people with money that collect art will always somehow end up in a big house by the american beach. I am also thinking of targeting to people who follow art magazines designed to help collectors appreciate artists and other art critics I've researched into.

TLDR:

I need Facebook advice for an ad campaign designed to sell art. I targeted American shore and London, people who follow art magazines and critics. Is this ok? I also don't know if I should design banner or make little 10 second video.

I will gladly pm with anyone who can give me some piece of their mind or information from past experiences.

bump... old article but i am experiencing the same need, anyone out there with tips on marketing high value items online?

Find the courses by Dan Kennedy on torrent about selling to the affluent.

You might do better with a direct mail. Depends upon your budget for this project.

I fell sorry for you having to do this so I will share one of my secrets

You mentioned Miami. So also think Ft Lauderdale and Palm Beach County.

So thats Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties

Go to the property appraisal websites for those counties.

You want to search for the most expensive homes (million and up) that have been sold in the last 90 or so days. They will be looking for things for their new home.

Compile a list of those addresses and do a mail out

Or target your facebook ads by geographic location

"You can target ads to serve to Facebook users in a geographic location. To bolster their location targeting, Facebook now lets you target users based on a specific address. In the Locations field, you can enter a physical address or geographic location and target users who are around that area"

You can expand this to other rich areas as well

Sincerely,

TheEye

PS. It all depends upon what you mean by "expensive". If it is investment grade art, you might consider contacting financial planners and offer packages to their clients.

So far so good! I am an art dealer (middle man). At the moment most of the works I have to sell are $$$$. I have to work out on having lower priced items $$. Otherwise the fundamentals are in place.
I have not tried Artsy as it looks too crowded already and some of the galleries I am listing from have had works listed on Artsy for many months with no movement.

Oh that's super fun! I saw that we are neighbours! You are from A'dam and I live near R'dam. That's funny, I am also the middle person, but my target is selling Mexican Art, and when in Mexico I promote Dutch Art. Have you tried also the rent Art concept?

I am super interested if you want to share any advises :) I am eager to learn. Have a lovely Day!
