Hi there fellas...Quick question.

What have been the largest pillar post you have ever seen ranking on Google?

5k words?
10k words?
15k words?
20k+ words?

What would be the advisable length for a pillar post?

Cheers!

Anything over 5k would be too much in my opinion an 3-5k article is enough as pillar post.

I read a post on BHW the other day (can't remember which one) where someone said they had a 10k post and ranked it for a ton of KW's. I just added a bunch of FAQ's to one of mine, taking it over 5k, and getting a lot of new traffic as a result. I will add more this week.

Just make sure you have a plugin to give your visitors a table of contents, or create your own page anchors so it is easy for them to find what they are looking for.

I have seen posts upto 10k. Averaging around 6-7k. They are usually the whole package starting from big bang to global warming. Just make sure that it is properly spilt and easy to read. And surpasses the content of the top pages :)
