Do you think Billionaires should exist?

I think most of them earned their money through hard work, and it would be a dickmove to say "Alright, you've got too much so please give us (the government) a big part of your cake."
I think there's not a single billionaire, who is publicly known, that does'nt know that with great money there's great responsibility. That's why they give dozens of millions of dollars to charity.
They are builders, they create jobs, they create value (not exclusively billionaires, but entrepreneurs in general). If we would'nt allow them to exist, we would be 1 step closer to communism / hardcore socialism and I don't want that to happen..

I think they need to be more accessible, the Billionaires. Not one of them has given me any money for any of my business ideas.

Most billionaires are awesome!

• They create jobs for people, so that they can sell their stuff (Amazon, google, alibaba)
• They have visions (yeah they keep changing, like bill gates helped eradicate polio where ever he could)
• Their companies drive national economy
• They are mostly humble people (deserve to be on the top)
• They have goals too! Maybe they want to push their company to be the biggest in the world and that's what makes them happy? Not everyone loves to do charity all the time but sources say that most do charities whenever they could.

I don't know why most people think billionaires should not have goals and aspirations in life. Money is not everything, I am sure Warren buffet will never be able to spend all his money before he dies but he still doesn't waste money. I don't know but I think that's what makes him happy.

It's not the money which makes him happy but the growth of it?

Then why even have money in this world? Let's go to Gene Roddenberry's vision of the future where money doesn't exist and everyone is just good and wants to work to contribute to the whole of humanity. I do think many of the billionaire's are awesome people, and not because they have a billion dollars....you have to have a good set of values, beliefs, morals, character, consistency, etc to make it to that level. So clearly they have some very stable mindsets and personality traits.

But let's see this world go to a "no money" system where money no longer exists and everyone just contributes out of the goodness of their hearts and altruism. Let's see how that works. The result will be the answers to all the questions about this.

I don't aspire to be one, and I wouldn't like it. But we shouldn't put limits on people who do. What they do with their money, the result of their efforts and achievements is none of my business. Doesn't make me a better or worse person.

That's never gonna happen, The nature of Humans is to exploit anything and everything, we exploit the nature animals anything weaker than us we even exploit microorganism to make medicine from them, you can't deny millions of years of evolution coz some people fell things will work out for the better, without the rich and without their massive co. we won't have innovation new breakthroughs nothing, everything you use now has been the results of the people who have the drive and work hard to make the money the explosion of technology in the last 50 years is nothing short of a miracle, and because of the incentive of money we will see more of this tech in every field from luxury to medicine to comfort or making food. let's take an example of the smartphone you have in your hand, it is one of the most important inventions in the history of mankind, you have unlimited access to all the information from any part of the world/time look at what it can do from social interaction to learning to grow your knowledge to entrainment to contacting anyone at any part of the world, access to information, able to organize for events or protest and many more and that's all because people wanted to make money, Make no mistake this innovation would never have happened if it wasn't for Capitalism and the greed of people to make money,

Most of you don't know what a *billion* represents. It's more money than you'll ever need for ten generations in your family. That's way too much and nobody should earn such money considering all the poverty in the world. Even if you invent a device that allow people to live longer you don't deserve this money, so no way a marketer or Bezos-like should earn this.
However, a few dozen millions is okay

Hmm think before most were just multigenerational families from large corps. But now it seems like there's big money that even the average person could eventually get to. Of course the chances are prob slim, but one big Facebook or Amazon idea lol.

I believe that the good nature of people should mean that those who have reach a billion dollars in net worth have the capacity to spread the wealth. However, I think people should have the tact to be charitable on their own, instead of the government needing to intervene. We are breeding a culture of selfishness and entitlement by both the wealthy and the people who think they deserve a piece of their money.

Pretty sure that a considerable amount of billionaires started with the motive of being a billionaire or making as much money as humanly possible. They were just a) good at what they did/do, b) lucky, or c) lucky and good.

He was good at what he did, worked hard, was bloody lucky and has done an awful lot of good with his money.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation have certainly done a LOT of good in the world.
