Some questions about SEO and blogging

Hi BHW family.

I'm not a SEO expert and I need some help about a couple of questions that are going through my mind.

My questions are the following:

1.) What happen if I have a blogger blog with name (for example) "abcd.blogspot.com", and I decide to buy my own domain name, but I find a good domain name that is (for example) "ypmz.com".

2.) In terms of positioning how this can affect the blogs?

3.) What happen with the links indexed by google with previous blogspot names?

4.) How does Google algorithm react when something like this happens?

5.) If the domain name is good, I mean, a domain name that nobody has but is a common term with lot of searches per month, can this affect the blogs in a positive way?

6.) If I decide to move everything to WP, how can I take advantage of the work I have already done in blogger? (I have 5 blogger blogs and a Journey about it published here in BHW).

Regarding this last question I have an idea and I want to know your opinion.

7.) It is a good idea publish in WP blog or WP website all the content published in blogger and in each blogger blog leave only a fragment of each publication and at the end of each fragment, write a text that says something like: "if you want to read the full content about (article title) then please click on the link"?

Do you think this would be a good idea?

8.) Maybe an obvious question. I'm blogging about different topics and if I want to move everything to WP, which is better, a WP blog, a WP website, or is it indifferent?

Looks like you have a few questions, so I am going to try to keep it organized but i re-grouped some of the questions

You can either redirect your domain and forward it to (for example) "abcd.blogspot.com", or you can backup and migrate you wordpress blog to a new domain Click this for a technical guide

You will want to follow the indexing process just like normal, but the domain name itself doesn't have a large impact on SEO anymore. The main thing you will want to consider is that old links are still going to be active and pointing at (for example) "abcd.blogspot.com". During a migration the old an new paths are effectively 'competing' . Both can be indexed, and have their own ranking, its just that in general the new URL should nearly always win.

But if the old url has a lot of links (both backlinks and/or internal links) then the old page may technically rank better than new. In general should not be a major concern. Users will still reach the new page (via the redirect!)
Don't rob yourself of that pre-established traffic and forward (for example) "abcd.blogspot.com" to your new domain for the next few month.

5.) If the domain name is good, I mean, a domain name that nobody has but is a common term with lot of searches per month, can this affect the blogs in a positive way?

It can help, but search engines don't consider domains as heavy anymore when calculating search engine ranking. More traffic usually never hurts though.

Usually, if do correct redirect and follow all broken links and fix all issues and set Site Moving at Google Search Console, you should not lose any rankings. They will jump at the first, second month, but later will get back or even higher as before (from my experience)

Google will re-crawl them and change everything to the new url.

Nothing happens from Google site as it's completely natural process and happens to millions of sites every day!

You mean like EMD? In 2019 it's not a ranking factor and it should not affect anything.

You can just re-use the content, move everything to WordPress, update URLs and you will have better design chances and more possibilities to monetize content!

You can do that, but that fragment will be duplicate content in Google Eyes. Better just 301 redirect the blogger domain to new domain!

Same question here, what about the old content? must be deleted from old blogs and be moved to a new WP blog?

Suppose that I decide to create an entire new WP blog and use all the blogger content to create the new blog. Wouldn't that count as duplicate content?

In other words, should I forget forever what I've already done in blogger? Couldn't I turn that blogging job into my own little PBN?

Finally, in your opinion, which is better, a WP blog or a WP website?

According what you wrote, then does that mean I have to remove all blog content from bloggers and leave them simply redirecting to the new site?

No, you just copy everything to wordpress, make everything 1:1 except design if you want to leave old one. Then just redirect blogger with wildcard redirect to wordpress. Don't delete anything.

But Google doesn't consider this as a duplicated content?

If you redirect 301 then no. You also need to add Site Domain Change at Google Webmasters and you are good to go.
