Greetings,

I have been advising hedge funds as well as institutional investors for the last couple of years and obtained a good track record but the compensation has been mediocre lately. Mainly thanks to the MiFiD 2 regulation.
The obvious move is to become a money manager but that is still few steps down the road.

To make it short; My product is a market letter for retail investors.
It is about picking profitable investments on the financial markets (mainly stocks but some other stuff as well), supplying the research to back it up and following on those. It would be a subscription service.

I am trying to approach the every possible angle on how to market this.

  • Throw a chunk of cash at SEO and try to rank well for good keywords?
  • Go for an (probably expensive) Adwords campaign or some other CPC?
  • Push the product through affiliate marketing for a cut on the sales?
  • Targeted e-mail list campaign?

I have been out of the marketing game for a while so I would appreciate any thoughts and inputs.
Thanks

No Gordon Gekko to ask about this, Bud?

Telegram groups is one option to consider.

Thanks, haven`t thought about Telegram.

Actually, I got a proper Gordon behind me. How else to get proper fundamental information? :D
Obviously, that generation who was wrecking the 80s and 90s on Wall ST usually does not know a lot about these methods we are discussing here, however, their ability to close anyone on the phone or face-to-face is just ridiculous.

If I were in that game I would build outt a Twitter account that teases AFTER you get a decent number of followers. The tease can then lead to sign ups for your subscription service.

How to build the account?

Not very hard using tools and constant posting + shoutouts from other related Twitter accounts as well as sharing (marketing) in FB groups, related forums, YT and hitting your local online classifieds.

Twitter is probably my personally most disliked platform but I see its purpose.

One thing I picked up while browsing through the forum was about the solo ads. What do you guys think about running a campaign to build a decent email list to have at hand once the service feedback picks up? Any solo ad feedback would be appreciated - especially if someone from the forums runs the service.

When I was young I drove an Ice Cream truck and had an area that had real nice homes, middle class homes and the projects.

I made much more money in the projects and, although I hated going there, I went there for the money.

You should do the same.

Lets talk. I think i can help you out with this (3 year eCommerce/Marketing Noob here)

you can make some youtube videos where you share your knowledge and some proof about "picking profitable investments on the financial markets" and send your viewers/subscribers to your website where you sell trading tips/courses... there are lot of guys doing this..

as MisterF & nova suggest Telegram and youtube are the most popular right now to sell stock tips.

A lot of group does cross-promotion in telegram at a very cheap price

Telegram and twitter are super popular for selling tips. A lot of them are coming from forums to those mediums such as stocktwits and reddit. I would work the feeder forums as well, you could get ppl directly through those forums and it’s a more targeted and bigger market
