A Newbie In Doubt

I have began my journey in online marketing exactly a year ago, My target was to build an Amazon affiliate site, I started with very low budget so I had to make everything myself, from keyword research to article writing to blog commenting and email outreach I even did Pinterest and started pinning on it for a while.

The problem is that I've accomplished very minimal progress in the span of this year, with total of 75 published articles my monthly website traffic is swinging between 200 - 400 users a month, which is very low and devastating, and my total comissions from amazon is $96 dollars, which is again devastating.

I've did everything myself no courses purchased and no mentors have coached me so I am wondering am I doing something wrong or is this normal for someone who is just starting out?

Am I on the right track? is this progress natural or is it too slow? I feel like my energy tank is empty and I don't know how to recharge it, any advice would be appreciated

this is quite normal...

yes there are people earning thousands in affiliates but there are even more people that are earning nothing or very minimal from amazon. At the end of the day, it all boiled down to product, price, demand and your google rankings

Also ranking an affiliate site is getting harder day by day...i have 2 pretty decent sized websites that are stuck on page 2 since ages...People will suggest PBN but nobody will share a working PBN ..the next suggestion is to build your own pbn which is expensive and time taking as well. Free links arent working as they used to be...

So it is normal and it is part of affiliate business modle. Keep working and keep increasing "easily rankable content" rather than just posting "relevant" articles

Very normal. You need to evaluate where you are going wrong though.

- What is your competition's SEO looking like? Try to mirror that or even best it.
- What is their social media engagement like? Try to mirror that or be better than it.
- Is your on-page SEO near perfect?
- How is your off-page SEO? Check this thread for tips.
- Have you tested out different products?
- Have you targetted facebook groups?

I dont see anything wrong here. check your site ranking keywords and try to improve them by adding more content , seo and social media share.

I don't think anyone can answer that. Every situation and niche is different.

I think that if you are earning $96 from 200-400 visitors, you are indeed doing something right, just that you need to replicate your efforts further, to make a bigger income. If your existing strategy is netting you $96 from 200-400 visitors (which is a very good ratio), then try replicating it 10x more than you'll be seeing $960 in your pocket after that. If the strategy can't be replicated, then it is not a good strategy anyway to begin with.

Good to know for my future amazon idea. I've also heard it can take up to 5 years to really see a big change but I'm sure it doesn't have to be that long. But even if it does, it'll be well worth it.

Focus on the pages where those commissions have come from. Promote those pages, build internal links to them and get some decent links from other sites to improve profits. For the other pages check where the the traffic comes - check what keywords they're ranking for, it might not be the keywords you initially targeted. You've got 75 articles to optimize and update -try and make each one a money maker. You're on the right track, don't give up!!
