As a beginner looking to experiment, if I have a budget of $100 on average how much can I make from that in a month?
Also what are 4L Com domains?
In two years you made over $100k profit? if that is correct what was the initial money you put into this venture?

I have not made 100k. I made around 40k from domaining alone. 4L Com means four letters Com domains like besd.com, gste.com, Ruia.com etc. When I started selling these domains prices were around $25 or $30. But now the price is over $100 for a non premium 4L com domain. Within 4l com domains there are lot of variations. It is difficult to explain all this on comment section. You better check domain section on this forum or do a google search. There is a prominent domaining forum. Unfortunately, I can't name it here as I might be violating ToS of BHW. Please don't start buying immediately. Do the research first and invest in 4L. A budget of $500 to $1000 would be a solid start.

If you want to buy expired domains go to expireddomains.net

learn about the filters. I've sold 6 domains so far, bought for $10 sold for $100-250. Most sold were 3-word domains. All .com and one 5 letter brandable.

you can get some good old domains on there for pennies. with backlinks, just make sure they're clean or blacklisted anywhere before pulling the trigger.

yes. But domains are VERY hard to sell and VERY personal.
number one rule of brandable domains is the speech test, (imo) say it out loud before you buy it, if it makes sense or rolls off the tongue, that's a plus. Also, look at wayback.org to see some history on the domain and see how many snapshots it has over the years, and what kind of site it was connected to. Or has it been for sale over and over again from different sellers dropping and rebuying it thinking it will sell, Wayback will tell you.

How about .co domains? I have a 3 character .co domain for a billion dollar government agency which I picked up at an expired auction. Well the term is trademarked but the domain was actually previously used by people who were anti this company. Not sure if I should approach them to sell as I don’t know if it would be classed as squatting..

Thank you for valuable advices and I agree 100%. I myself a domainer and been doing it for last 2 years. When I started domaining i used to register useless domains and used to list them on ebay for 4 or 5 figures. These domains never got sold. I gradually improved my knowledge and in two years made 5 figures profit. If any beginner reading my comment I can say OP is 100% correct in his views. I would really advice to buy 4L Com domains because they are kind of affordable and have both resellable and enduser values. You won't loss with these types of domains.

Flippa does more of WEBSITE FLIPPING and not naked DOMAIN FLIPPING

You said that you check the keyword search volume but EMD domains have no such value these days. How it works in domain reselling?

Depends on the domain and the end user(s). But more often than not, .com can be flipped faster than .xyz.

Why?

Because .com is more popular.
