Hello everyone,

I am currently having some issues on masking the source of the traffic that I get to my AdSense site. I am sending traffic to a landing page, and over there I redirect it to my site. Google, however, isn't very happy about it since the traffic shows up as direct (over 60%).

I am looking for ways how to mask that traffic, one of the ideas that I tried is sharing an article in Facebook, then using that URL in the landing page to send people to my site, but it wouldn't fully show up as Facebook as a referral for the visitors. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

You can fake referrals easily with php, just search on google, and convert that traffic to facebook, twitter, or any website you want

I searched on Google but it was effortless. Could you please navigate me towards the right way?

If you are going to mask the referrer then it might be wise to make sure you do not generate too much money on adsense. Anything over 1k per month will get hit with a manual review and if google catches you manipulating the referrer you will surely get banned. You can find php scripts on various blogs I suggest using the advanced search operatives to pinpoint a script.

There's a few things you might want to consider before masking for example, is the user using chrome, is the user logged into g account. These may/may not feedback data to google adsense as we know the big g has access to a wealth of data other than adsense to collaborate.

If you really want to redirect just buy a domain and redirect it yourself.

so you mean direct traffic is bad?

To be honest it generally depends if your direct is legit or not. 60% is high but it could mean that the users are coming word of mouth or you have a good domain (ex popular site or typo etc).

There was a thing i used to do to get facebook referrer but I don't know if it works anymore. If you do want to try it give me a pm Im happy to share it with you

fake referral is the key or you could try email spamming to drive traffic from different sources.

Is that a fake traffic?
Or why would you want to 'mask' it?

oh i see, so direct traffic for adsense is only legit if your referrers are legit. ifnot, then better to have bigger organic traffic

Faking referrals isn't safe when you've high adsense revenue that might end up for a manual review.

No, the traffic is not fake, but it comes from emails and the website does not have any other traffic besides direct.. I think that is an issue.

Well firstly, if I was Google it would be obvious to me, that a new site with no organic traffic from Google is getting so much traffic, has to be fishy.
Secondly, ads are limited right now, which means that they aren't showing all the time because "they are investigating the quality of the traffic", however, there are tons of people in forums that complain about this since it's a common problem right now with AdSense. AdSense accounts are not banned YET, still waiting to see if I get the remaining payments in the account balance..

First time to hear that direct traffic is bad... please what’s your source of information

@Papaproxy did u find how to hide ref? If yes please let me know how
