Inside a Scam Call Center

I used to work in a regular call center and these guys seem more organized than the legit company I worked for LOL

Cyber Police? For real?

EDIT: There is a YouTube channel in Germany where one guy is pranking all those guys.

By myself I did this a few times as well. Just pranking them. Suddenly start asking them lots of question, when it comes to the point where they ask for my job I tell them I am working for an intelligences agency.

Hey! What you are doing is generalising the whole country based on few scum-heads. This is wrong. You can do a background check before working in partnership with anyone to know about them or their past.
These types of people are everywhere, in every country. It is just that all of them do not use a VoIP to scam someone. Each has their own devilish methods. But what these people do, you get to hear it on youtube and then think that people from these countries are scammers. This is not the case with eveyone my friend.
That's exactly what i said, i know that, but the world does not.

When a few scam call centers been captured, someone, somewhere is planning to start up another one. It's just impossible to have a scam free cyber world.

That's the point - I still get to learn about new tools these guys make use of, Make them even smarter.

So you know these guys in pictures? You familiar with the Kolkata area? You could be the good guy in here. I'm heading to the mall to pick up a big ass tape. So scared of my front camera right now. That could have saved them the publicity they got.

They ain't that smart anyways.
To answer your questions..
1) Nops I know none of them in the video.
2) Pretty much! I was born in Kolkata. I grew up here and still living here.
3) Good guy, how? Didn't get that joke lol. But yeah, I can get you the contacts like the police, lawyer etc. I will be happy to do that for free, if anyone got scammed and needs my help.

Yo clarify further, I worked in a tech support company as a web designer, not as a caller. I was broke back then (2007ish) and really needed money. They used to pay me $100 for maintaining their site. That was my job.
I didn't even know they were scamming until I worked there for a couple of months. I knew it was a scam when they used my pp account for receiving money and the account got banned (180 days hold etc..). I resigned from my position after 3-4 months.

Haha, I have worked in one of them (a long time back.. oh, and I wasn't a caller.. so, don't judge me lol); and yeah.. I am from Kolkata too. :D
Btw, Kolkata police are doing quite a lot these days to stop these scammers. A few of the big fishes already got caught. Keep reporting them guys.

Today I learned that Kolkata is former Calcutta. I guess I'm old, I still remember it by the old name :p

Yeah.. Calcutta became Kolkata recently. "Kolkata" is the pronunciation in bengali vs the British given name "Calcutta". :)

And what is with this common sense shit? If someone does not have any common sense, then do we get a right to rob them of their money? Really?
I totally agree with everything you said. Just because what these call centres do isn't screwed up doesn't mean that the people being scammed aren't also ridiculously nieve for falling for something like this. It doesn't require being a genius not to be scammed by some random indian person telling you to log onto your bank account with them watching, just the tiniest shred of common sense. Why would Microsoft ask for you to do that - it's idiotic.
