Good morning all,
I have been a lurker on these forums for around 3 years now, I was never able to understand SEO for a long time, I understood the concept, but I just couldn't create a picture with all the small pieces. On top of that my time was little, as I was studying for extra certs in my IT career.
I am now an infrastructure engineer who works 14 days a month, and has a lot of spare money. So with all this spare time on my hands and money, I have decided to learn SEO. I have been studying this for around 2 months now and I am in the process of creating my first ever Amazon Affiliate Website! I did own a website for a year, but it was only getting 10 views a day from organic search, it was slow, clunky, bad keywords, horrific structure. So Lets Jump right in!
What have I done so far?
What will I be doing next?
Any questions feel free to ask below.

What have I done so far?
- WPX Hosting ($25 a month, getting 0.4 second loading time on GT Metrix)
- Bought a beautiful logo for $20 (This is extremely beautiful and suits my niche to a T)
- Bought a domain, this is not an EMD, but it does contain the keywords as this gives weight to rankings
- Bought Generatepress theme ($49.95) and created my website
- Bought Keyword Package for $40 (I did this for a kick-start, brainstorming is not my thing, I am researching better keywords but just using the niche provided)
- Picked out my weakest competitors (short articles + low metrics) and noted down their keywords they are ranking for as this will assist me with google sandbox
- Created a social fortress, also to kick start the move out of google sandbox
- Bought an expensive 3000 word article on my main keyword (I will be writing the supporting articles, but any main articles I will outsource due to the strength of my writing)
- Created a real Silo (I learned this in web architecture at university)
- Checked the demographics of my niche and created my colour scheme accordingly to colour psychology
- Used a picture of a model smiling straight at the camera on the "about me" page as in psychology human contact with eyes creates a subconscious feeling of happiness (This is legal, the model has given her release on the stock imaging website)
What will I be doing next?
- Over the next month, I will be attempting to leave google sandbox, through social fortress, a press release, drip-fed PBN links, and social signals (manually created)
- Creating 20+ support articles for my silo (each article will be created to outrank number 1 and to steal features snippets, the more authority I can get passed to the main article the better)
- Signing up to amazon affiliates (No I am not doing this yet until I have nice traffic, no advertisements yet as I am using social media/forums to promote my site, If it has advertisements then it gets down-voted etc)
- Creating extreme topical relevancy. Any back-links I purchase in the future will ONLY be niche back-links, any guest posts will be niche guest posts. I want google to see anything pointing towards my site is extremely relevant to my site.
- Reading books, watching videos, reading blogs from reputable sources like Ahrefs, Moz ect, to look at case studies and determine if any methods would be good to implement for me.
