Google doesn't count link to homepage. Is my website punished?

So I have a website that was dramatically losing ranks and I couldn't figure out the reasons. At first I thought it was kinda G's things, so I waited. However, after a month and a half, there are no improvements.

I checked the Links section in Search Console and my homepage example.com doesn't show in the Top linked pages (which is supposed to be). Also, all backlinks pointing to my homepage don't show in Top linking sites.

The weird thing is Google still rank all other pages, and inspecting homepage still shows 'Submitted and indexed'. A quick Google search also shows the homepage as a result. There are no manual actions or security issues.

I checked my Onpage and everything is fine. I didn't do anything considered heavy blackhat, just some blog comments here and there. There were some bad backlinks coming from competitors I guess.

Till now the only fix applied is disavowing those bad links and also some blog comments I made.

I would like to hear your suggestions on what might be the case, and what I should also do to fix this

google always count unique links, so make sure your backlinks is really index by google, and until you recieve any manual action by google .

your site is doing well, and there is no problem , just check out the search console error, fix them , build quality links , and you are good to go

I'm also working on another site with a similar strategy. Google counts all backlinks for the homepage of this second site. All of my backlinks are unique, and there are no errors in my Search Console. The only reason I can think of is some bad links from competitors. But these links don't point to my homepage but point to a specific post. Does this affect the ranking of the homepage? Below is the 2nd site's console.

no thats looks good an natural and does not affect. just not try to build shitty spammy links, focus on unique quality content. speard some high DA guest post and you are good to go
