Tips for monetizing downloads?

Hello everyone,

Tl;DR: I am looking for methods to generate revenue from the downloading of files from my website.

I am currently building a website that has a large repository of files for download, over 15,000+ (not adult). I am looking for advice on the best way to monetize these downloads.

Currently, there will be a one-time subscribe fee that can be paid to increase download speeds and remove ads.

Also, I am considering using a service like ad.fly as my main download revenue provider. I prefer not to lock downloads behind a service like key2share as I feel that as a user when I face download providers like this I immeditely search for an alternate source for content (to which in my case there are many), or use a leecher to bypass premium account requirements.

So, with that in mind. Does anyone have any tips on how I can best maximize the revenue received from downloads? Or is using something like ad.fly the best way?

Clicksfly is the one I see people use the most.

Plus, I know @FreeCourser uses clicksfly on his site, I'm sure he's tried many others and ended up using Clicksfly for a reason.

They pay you pretty good per 1000 visitors based on what they advertise.

For sure, seems good. Although when looking at the website. The Payment proof section looks a little faked. But that doesn't mean they aren't legit
