- Have you ever tried to buy followers from SMM panels for your Pinterest account, is it ok to buy a couple hundred to bootstrap the acc?
- What strategy would you go for once you reach about 5k monthly views? so far I have been repinning other ppl pins "warming up account"

I had 5 of my pins went very successful (like 2,000 clicks and 100K impressions per pin). I wish I could replicate the same pins to get more traffic but nothing helped. I created new pins with the same hashtags and keywords targeting same/new posts and posting in the same group boards etc but they did not skyrocket like the first ones.

Any suggestions?

How much time does a pin take to reach its full potential ranking? The ones I had success with brought me traffic quickly within 72 hours of posting them.

Pinterest has all sorts of algorithms that are going on in the background. The first few pins you put out there each day will do better than the rest, after a certain amount they don't get the same juice. I have no idea if that is the same for a brand new account and the first few pins it ever makes compared to when it is an established account that has made thousands of pins. There are lots of other factors that could have contributed. Someone could have repinned it which started a snowball effect of the right people seeing it and repining it. I have noticed the same trend with some of the old methods I used to use. These days I have repackaged that whole method to be more of a vanity service that I offer. Some people just want their products visible at the top no matter what just for appearance sake. I have had many corporate clients that wanted the appearance of being a lot bigger than they are while in the process of being acquired, it works wonders for that. As for how long it takes it all depends on views, interactions such as repins, social media shares etc. Really what you want to do is artificially increase the engagement and that is the only way to speed up the process.

I finally made the decision to pay the annual fee for Tailwind. I was thinking about going the Jarvee route but decided against it this time around and I just found out that BoardBooster got shutdown so this was pretty much the only option, lol. Really, Pinterest is the only platform that I've actually made money on organically (meaning without ad spend) so it makes the most sense. Tribes is my favorite feature so far but I'm still finding my groove with this thing and figuring out the routine that works best for me. I've also hired a VA to send out group board invites for me. I'm apart of 27 so far. My goal is 100-120.

Yeah tribes can be amazing if you put in a little effort. Good luck with reaching your goal. Having that many will be amazing while using Tailwind because you can make lists of boards that you can add to the pins you set up. Every time I set up pins it crashes because i have been trying to do 7000+ at a time so my browser needs about two minutes to catch up but it always does. So I end up setting up 100 pins and then adding a list of about 70 - 80 boards and set myself up with 2 - 3 months worth of pins at once.

I'm on Fiverr now and I see a bunch of gigs for Pinterest group board invites that look tempting. The price is not that bad either compared to what I'm paying my VA now. Actually it's great. If you were starting now would you still go the fiverr route?

If they are boards you want then yeah go for it, buying boards has it's pros and cons but if you can get them go for it.

This has been a really really interesting thread @William702 ...Unfortunately, a large majority of the responses in the thread are looking to be spoonfed on questions you answered earlier in the thread. I have a pinterest account for years and never really took it seriously...like I only have 10 pins lol, but one ended up going viral and just thought "oh cool" at the time....

anyway, this thread has really opened my eyes and want to try somethings mentioned here.

I had some questions

1. If you have a branded account for your website, is it ideal to have board dedicated to your content or have one that follows the 80/20 rule you spoke about? Searching on Pinterest, I see accounts like Dr Axe, who has boards only with his content....then other top notch boards who have the mixed content, other people's vs their own. Is it that it doesn't matter? Once the content is good?
2. Working with clients, have you seen people been adverse to allowing brands/vs real people accounts into group boards, or end of the day it is the content of your board that matters?
3. Does having a verified red check matter in the grand scheme of things?
4. End of the day content is king and volume,..right?

I'm glad it has helped.

1) Yes I had one dedicated and named after the brand and had boards relating to each product such as eyeshadow, foundation, nail polish as well as a board that had every product on it. I would also make other boards that i would share other peoples pins to as well as my own peppered in. but i definitely had some boards dedicated to just my products or the products of the brand that was being worked on.
2) I have not personally experienced any problem but with the boards i never heard back from i have no idea if that was the reason or not.
3) No not really.
4) Yes, content over volume but volume can sometimes be easier depending on what the desired outcome is.

I'm in 60 group boards right now. I just need 40+ to reach my goal. I have a list of 500+ boards in my niche and I'm going to give that to my VA to handle so I should reach it in no time. I'm finding my groove with Tailwind as well but I have a quick question. I've been using Interval Scheduling to space out my product pins but this has them going out over the course of 4 days. From what I understand with your method, you send out 60-100 product pins a day. Should I be scheduling my pins to go out for the next 24 hours or spacing them out like I am currently (over the course of a few days)? I'm still split testing to see what works best but wanted to get a second opinion.

It's set up right now at 90 and I have never had a problem, one account is sending out 130 a day and I have had no problems. so for each day i have added time slots up to 90 a day. The times they go out don't really matter I have mine going out all throughout the day. I set up thousands of pins at a time. I then press the shuffle button and i'm done. It fills in the time slots with pins at random and by setting them up to go out to dozens of boards it also randomizes that enough to where i dont have to worry too much about over-pinning, although i do get booted from some groups from time to time, which is just collateral damage.

Yes I have tried to purchase them, All I end up with is super low quality accounts that dont really do anything. The only way to buy real followers in my opinion is to pay to work with an influencer and offer a giveaway or do shoutouts with quality accounts. To get things going and looking a certain way you could purchase followers. Or use any of the sites where you follow people to have others follow you back or pay for credits to have others follow you.

I would continue to repin good content and pepper in your own offers and build it up from there. I have had insane growth by repining other pins, some just go viral and blow up causing lots of activity on the account which in theory will help list everything else up a little too. It's VERY easy to fall down the rabbit hole with Pinterest and lose time worrying about every little aspect to try and get things to go viral so I personally just go the volume route which does not work as well but the payoff is that its really easy and i can set it and forget it.

I pump out a couple recipes per day. For each recipe, I create 5 new images each with different descriptions targeting specific keywords. I forgot which podcast I watched but Pinterest actually encourages creating different images and descriptions per post... they consider this as fresh content on their platform.

Hi mate,
Do you put those "5 new images" on the recipe article/post? Or you just create 5 new images, pin them and put your recipe URL? Do you optimize the images for pinterest clicks (vertical and interesting, etc)? I saw on recipes boards the pins are mostly optimized for pinterest.

I am on different niche, it will be very hard for me to include 5 images on/for the post.
Let alone make the images optimized for pinterest.

The real news is that I came up with a solid Pinterest strategy from studying William702, KevinRB and a few other people's methods but it requires me to scale up with multiple accounts instead of just the one I have now. I have 2 other accounts on deck but I'm gonna need a few more for this method. It requires a bit of automation so my options are either: 1.) buy multiple Tailwind accounts (that's out the question) or 2.) start using bots again. I have way more understanding of how Pinterest's algorithm works now so I know that if I did start using bots again I can do some amazing things. Before when I used bots I was under the impression that "monthly viewers" actually meant something I wasn't using it right. I'm ready to come back with a vengeance. I just have to see what options are out there right now.

Congrats, the more you have the more posting options you will have and the more volume you can do. I would look for alternative posting automation if you plan on using tons of accounts otherwise Tailwind will become very very expensive. I have not used anything else nor do I know of a good alternative. If you plan on only using a handful of accounts then maybe Tailwind could work. Glad to see you have been reading Kevin's posts too. He clearly knows his stuff and there is another member here that knows her stuff too. I forget her name but would recognize the avatar. I always take note of their posts.

After reading all of the posts in here AND being a total newbie to Pinterest I've got some pretty basic questions. (Probably)

1. If trying to cross-promote Instagram posts via Pinterest should you re-upload the images or just pin it via the Link. Is there any difference in longterm performance?

2. If I get it right: re-pins are a good way to start with creating traffic. But is there any clue to repining your own pins to another board on the same account? e.g. same post different boards? Or do I need to have several accounts repining my pins?

3. Is there any suggestion how to form Captions for pins? E.g. Do they need to sound natural or is is basically a combination of keyword stacking and using hashtags?

4. If having 5.000 Images from Instagram - should I upload them and point directly to the post or to the account? Is there any penalty for using the same link to often? E.g. my Instagram account link?

5. And last but not least: Many numbers in here but is there a suggestion for a amount of pins to do daily?

Here is what I have understood so far. And this is the method is a nutshell. Let me know what I have missed.
1. Do a keyword research. Find log tail keywords.
2. Create boards with name the boards with keywords. Such if the keyword is "Wedding shoes" the board name should be "Wedding shoes"
3. Search on pinterest with the keyword "Wedding shoes" and download all the good quality pins
4. Change their exif data and upload them to "Wedding shoes" boards
5. Everyday post around 50 pins
6. Each pin must contain 3-4 word description with the relevant keyword. Such "one of my most favorite wedding shoe/ A great shoe choice for wedding"
7. Keep this doing until you have around 3000 pins.
8. Join various boards related to your niche and reshare best performing pins

I dont know if I have understood everything properly. Please let me know what I missed.

1) I would set it up to do both. I'm sure that where you pin from will have an effect on the algorithm but as to what that difference may be I don't know.
2) You can repin the same pin to other boards but you want enough variation so that your pin feed does not look like the same thing over and over. That's why I like the program I use where I can shuffle the pins from a selection I give it and randomize the boards it's going out to. It makes pinning in large numbers very easy .
3) If you want to just play the numbers game then do the stacking and hashtags. If you are a blogger wanting to create a nice look to your pins you should spend more time on the descriptions but also still include a few hashtags.
4) Personally if you are doing 5000 I would set it up to go to the posts themselves as having that many pins going out all leading to your Instagram might trigger some blocks or at the very least they might suffer from being ignored by the algorithm.
5) I do 90 per day per account. I have never had any issues with that number. However Pinterest themselves say that the algorithm favors the first 5 pins you put out on any given day.

That's not exactly a method I have shared but from what you have explained above yes that sort of a method could work well but i would go deeper in your long tail keywords and do something like "strapless white wedding shoes" as opposed to just "wedding shoes" make lots of sub niche boards and you could capture a lot of traffic for that example.

I'm not Pinterest so i have no idea I don't know what you pinned, how you pinned it but Pinterest are not stupid so if you were taking things too far they will have noticed.

Well the obvious benefits are that you capture more keywords and more potential customers. also being more defined with your niche by going a little deeper means that there will be a lot less competition than for a tag such ass wedding shoes on it's own. the drawbacks are that they wont have as much traffic but it will be more targeted. I'm not sure if having a board names white wedding shoes would bring up the wedding shoes board but it will certainly help with getting more traffic to your overall account and that is always a good thing.

Yes it can be done. It's all about making the actions you take look real. You could test out a bunch of ways to pin vs repin and see what works best. I personally play the numbers game. I just throw it at the wall and see what sticks. There is nothing special about the frequency of pins vs repins in my opinion.

Does Pinterest damage adsense?

I work in the adult industry and was wondering if there is a way to make money through pinterest? Im an affiliate managers, so right now im actually pushing some dating/cams offers but i also have some mainstream offers now as well ( dating, sweeps, gambling) . I was wondering what would work best, how to make money, and any other general advice that might be beneficial. I read above that a lot of the people using Pinterest are older women, so not sure if any of these offers would do well. Maybe sweeps is best? Any advice would be very appreciative!

Like you say, it's not really the right demographic for it. I personally have no experience with the adult niche. I'm sure there are members here using it to push adult offers or at least to drive traffic to sites that do. Remind me what exactly the sweeps niche is again.
