Siteground for Web Designing Business

Hello,

Just a quick question.

I am a web designer and want to design websites for businesses simultaneously hosting for it.

For instance, I met client X. And we both agreed to make a website.

But client X haven't decided for a specific domain yet.

So I want to design the website first before buying a domain.

But I want client X to see my progress so I must provide him a link.

Now, my question is,

Is it possible to make another site (cause I have my own website hosted by siteground), using my account with siteground with a link that is like a page in my website?

Example:

mysite.com - the name of my own website

mysite.com/tentativeclientXdomain - the link I can give to client X

yes, you can do that or you can use a subdomain ie. projects.yoursite.com
it will create a directory in your /home/username/projects which will work separately from your main domain

Yes, its unlimited so you should be able to create as many demo sites as you need(until you honor fair usage)

as far as I know. there is a limit in creating subdomains right? if it has, I think that will not work in my web designing business cause I want to create a lot of websites.

Assuming you are using CPanel.
Open File Manager.
Open www directory.
Create New Folder using Toolbar above.
Upload your website files.

Direct your client to this URL : http://www.yourdomain.com/clientfolder

You can develop it under a subdomain. Better, check the "Discourage search engines from indexing this site" until you finish the website. After you will transfer it to the main domain name, uncheck the "Discourage search engines from indexing this site" box.

The web hosting companies generally mention unlimited subdomains in their plans. You should contact customer service to know if they have any limit under fair usage policy. I guess you'll need around 100 subdomains. It shouldn't be a problem as you already have disk space and bandwidth limits.

What I have done is:

1) Get a digitalocean vps or aby other ($5-10 per month)
2) Install Ubuntu 18.04 + LAMP stack
3) Install WordPress Multi Site setup
4) Create example client website on subdomains
eg. plumber.mysite.com

This way I save a lot of headache & save lots of money. When client makes final revision, I migrate this site to their hosting. It just takes 5 minutes
