Starting by Rank:

1. View Retention - Watch Time
- The amount of time spent watching at your video.
- If video length is 3min then view retention should be as close as possible to 3min.

2. Video Quality - (Winning one)
- Why is video quality so important? Because of competition.
- You know a panel from where you can get views?
- Well, 99% of competition do know this as well.
- So, under ideal conditions, same amount of views/likes(blablabla) who wins?
- Quality. And how? While you are sending the fake views, real views are coming too.
- Real user view duration will obviously affect the overall score of your video view retention.

3. Slow Views - (We talk about the views from Social Panels aka SMM, whole time)
- Ideal view delivery should go slow.
- I won't promote any Panel, but you can find one that offers this and start testing.

4. Video Shares
5. Video Likes & Comments
(take care to use quality comments)

Suggestions:
- Try with using short and interesting video.
- Always call your audience to engage with 4+5.
- If you offer your product in the right manner, a decent % will follow your commands.

Opposite Method:
- Use 10-15min of some previously live streamed video.
(example, in case you find this relevant for your niche)
- Send fast High Retention Views, with view duration of 1 hour or more.
- This also works very well in many niches, and you won't need to send lots of views.

I mean, this is part of it. There's more to it though, especially if you want to rank on Google.

Which video rank better?

Slow views means 200-300 views per day?

i think you should let us in on it if you say so. i'm sure it wouldn't hurt, would it?

Nothing that isn't obvious. Quality video descriptions, relevant tags, embeds, backlinks, social shares, account authority etc. Basically treat videos like you would a page on your website.

are tags worth to add in video tags section?
I read somewhere that tags have no value

Hmm..was expecting to learn something I didn't know from this thread

Video Quality doesn't matter. It can influence on retention only.

You know, I was thinking about this, and I read somewhere that Youtube penalizes videos not shot in at least 720p. Which makes sense, because 720p makes for a better user experience.

But, is it that youtube penalizes those videos, or is it that they have a quick drop off rate due to quality, and therefore ranking lower for that reason alone?

Alright, short update, this is not hitting every aspect of ranking on YT, it covers only the basic's of ranking a video to YT, alright o_O

You sound like a guy who was battling in two YT niches. You are not right buddy.
What is the speed of this fast high rentention views?

About speed, no need to over focus on. Just use slow and fast options of your panel. In case you can fully control it, slow is equally separated amount of 1000 per hour, fast is 1000 per min or few mins. Test it.

I agree. Drop us more knowledge :smirk:
1. Video 5 minutes long retention 4 minutes.
2. Video 10 minutes long retention 4 minutes.

I can't give you an accurate answer. Sorry about that, but you can try it and see the results.

Tags are not worth as they used to, for sure. But I would still try some, at least with long tail keywords, that could be outside of video description, for testing purposes. Should be good like that. You can spin things, and try something else, just keep it separated, unique tags and unique desc.

So you can earn at least ;)

Good point buddy. Yup, videos should be at least 720p.
Just stick with 720p and no less, and you don't need to know nothing else about that.

nice post, want to add some insights

1. quality do matters, if YouTube algo need to choose a better video and he can choose from 2 similar videos that has same retention and related to the same niche and the only factor that is different is the video resolution
one is 480p and the other is 1080p, who do you think will be consider as a better video by YouTube? does a 4:3 240p video from 2001 can compete with 16:8 4k new video?

2. youtube hold a quality score on videos but also on channels, so if you added in the past tons of low retention views on your videos, you already set your average retention for that channel...
i will explain that, if you have a channel with 20 videos and all of them are 10-15 min videos, all the ton of views you sent in the past were with 2-3 min of watch time...
this already convinced youtube that your content is not interesting due to the fact that all the users did not stay to watch after minute 2-3

You're wrong.
It all depends on the niche and similar videos.
On my channel all videos 10+ minutes. There were months with retention of 1:36 (now 1:45). YouTube gives 20-40кк views/month for the top channels in my niche.
In general, it is a very low retention for YT.
