Hello All,
I'm going to start off just by saying I'm not crazy good with web hosting/servers, so if what I'm asking seems rediculous then just slap me in the face. So here is my thoughts, I'm wanting to set up a server that I could then run several different websites off of. I have a million different ideas I woud like to test out but it seems like it would be a pain to go pay for hosting for a single site or page and then that specific idea flops. This way I would have the ability to host multiple pages and or sites that I could edit and change on the go.

The idea is pretty basic, I figured I would just pay for a dedicated server somewhere? I dont know if that would allow me to host multiple websites or pages and if so, what would be the basic principle of setting it up??

I hope this makes sense to you guys, sorry in advance if it doesn't. I just read a lot of information here and think, I would like to try something like that, then find myself overwhelmed with trying to figure out a good way to host a site and then be stuck with that site if for any reason I need to change the site drastically.

My suggestion would be to get a VPS, no need for a dedicated server. Try Linode.

For the actual setup/management part I suggest you try Server Pilot. That way you don’t need to figure out all the technical stuff and worry if your server gets repurposed by some unknown third party.

When you’re a little more familiar with the tech stuff you could go on to the next phase and try something like CPanel/WHM or Plesk.

Thanks, I'll have to check those out. It's a little overwhelming trying to get out all together.

Literally there is no business that you can try without spending some money, so start with a bit of capital. OR learn something and offer yourself as VA till you create some capital

Most webhosting services offer multiple domains on same package. Usually the cheapest package will only support 1 domain.

I don't mind spending a little bit of money. I just want to make sure I'm purchasing the best option for what I'm going to be using it for.

For example: I have an offer I want to start promoting and it needs a landing page, domain name, and maybe attach some kind of database to it. Then I have another offer I want to work with and it might be something similar or it may drastically be an entirely different concept. Over time those niches might go cold and I decide I want to repurpose one of those pages. I know the domain name I used previously might not work so that gets burnt up but I want to be able to use that same server right?

So my main question is what's the best way to have a server set up to do something like this, and is it possible to do it on one server, or is it better to pay for a bunch of spots here and there.

I hope that makes sense, like I said pretty new when it comes to hosting a web page and or server. I just want to make sure the money I do have is being spent well.
