Hey people!

It's about time I started a journey here to keep track of my progress and to possibly inspire people to do the same.

Here is what I will be doing:
Create Kindle ebooks and paperbacks about a certain topic and promote it through Amazon advertising and a content website.

Amazon's website will be the main source of traffic and the content website will be the second source of traffic for the book. The website is meant to be a backup and to build a list of email subscribers. This niche is pretty big so I can publish a few books.

I will also be doing SEO to the Amazon book link. For example when somebody searches for 'best cleaning book' or 'how to clean a window' my book will pop up in the search results.

Social media will also be used to promote the website and the books (Pinterest, facebook, twitter, Goodreads)

What Have I done so far?
  • Research
  • Created the website
  • Posted the first few posts
  • Outsourced the book writing
Goals:
  • Have 500 visitors/month (16/day) on the website by September 2019 (6 months)
  • Make 1k of the website and books by July 2019 (4 months)

What's my experience in all this?

I'm doing kindle publishing for a while now and I'm doing quite well (nothing amazing).
The thing is that you can't create a brand or a following when you just publish your books on Amazon. This method will do that for me. I already have a website that's in a different niche and I have published one book for that website and I'm making around $1.2k/month from that book.

I will be updating this thread when I have done some progress and will answer questions you have.
Cheers!

Nice! Following this and good luck!

how much do you make on average through ebooks and how long are your ebooks in pages?

Thanks,
3k a month through several books. They are about 150-200 pages long (paperback format). Quality over quantity for the long run.

What is the % you keep from the sales of the Kindle books?

P.s I know a member here that does a killing with Kindle and I know that it can be profitable.

Best of luck I know you'll make it.

Ebook is 70% minus delivery cost. That's (3.99*0.7)-0.2=$2.59
Paperback is 60% minus the printing cost. That's (12.99*0.6)-3= $4.79

Delivery cost depends on file size and printing cost depends on the number of pages and black/white or color.

Who is that member and has this person done a journey/thread?
Thanks

Update:

Book #1

I have another book published in this niche and I'm sure this one will sell well too.
  • I received the book from my writer and it looks very good. I have formatted it for the paperback and kindle version.
  • I'm waiting on the creation of the cover on Fiverr.
  • Description, keywords, and pricing for the listing are already filled in.
Book #2

This book is still being written but I have published 20 articles on my website that will receive traffic from Google soon.

Next on the to-do list:

Book #1: contact people who already bought my previous book and ask them to buy it and leave a review (in a nice way). Once the book is published, set up a Pinterest and Amazon ad campaign. I will go aggressive on this and will lose money but it's good to have a lot of sales in the first week.

Book #2: Do more keyword research to find easy keywords for the website.

Book #3: I already have decided which topic it's going to be so now I have to do a whole lot of research in order to make a table of contents for this book.

No earnings update because it's still too early.

You are doing well, keep up the good work.

I also submitted an outsourced book to Kindle publishing several years ago and I have not a single sale so far. The thing is I don`t do any promotion on that book and I`m not an influencer nor well known author.

So I would recommend for other users, if they plan to just produce quality kindle books and wait for them to sell themselves, It doesn`t work that way. Without promotion It is very hard to earn even a dollar there. Best way is first to make audience, and then make the valuable products that will help or bring some joy to that audience.

So sorry to not update this thread. I was busy doing other stuff.
I can say that I have succeeded. Here are some print screens for the month of February.

My tip is to answer the people's expectations for the contents of the book. Read negative reviews from other books and address them in yours. Make it very practical. Don't choose too much of a competitive niche like bitcoin or smoothies and you will make it.

Earnings are from several books.

Hi there!
I'm doing the same as you. How do you get the initial attraction?
