I have a website that's a year old averaging very little traffic (~30-50/day).
I'm prepping for a couple of cornerstone blog posts but I'm uncertain about the keywords I should target for these post and I'd appreciate any thoughts or feedback.
Reading around tells me that I should target head keywords which naturally makes senses but my question is, how big (volume) of a keyword should I target.
Using SEMRush metrics, I've located a head kw that had a volume of 60k/mo. and a keyword difficulty of 69%. I don't have expectations to land on the first page anytime soon but there are some sites that rank 10-15 that have low content and minimal backlinks that I think I could replace.
Am I aiming too high on this keyword? Will landing on the 2nd page land me any traffic? Also, are there any metrics I should look for on secondary keywords?
Thanks,
