Hey guys, I really choked over this news The Verge reported.
Facebook is building a cryptocurrency designed to make it easier to transfer money on WhatsApp.
It is reportedly looking to develop what’s known as a “stablecoin" at least as far back as May. Around that time, Facebook Messenger leader David Marcus was reassigned to lead a new blockchain division, focused on exploring “how to best leverage Blockchain across Facebook, starting from scratch.”
What do you think about fb crypto idea?
For me it's quite ridiculous for this crappy messenger to use blockchain technology.

Think it's a damn good idea if it's true...

I close a lot of sales on Messenger so if there is an option to pay securely and instantly on there then damn.....

I don't know if it's the same thing but I've read that also WhatsApp is "implementing" a feature to pay people directly from the app

I believe that 4-5 years from now most of the online businesses will have their own digital currency. Facebook of course will be one of the early adopters.

Let´s hope there won´t be that many restrictions.. oh wait, it´s FB.
The idea in general is good and supportable, but the implementation is probably going to be crappy

Of course it's true. And I think it's a good/logic thing to do.
Facebook knows what's up. Telegram is also working on this.
Both FB and Telegram are way behind on WeChat in China.
But the Zuck is good at copying from the competition :)

FB had been working on their coin for over a year now .

ya seen that news before 2 months somewhere and it will be nice way to circulate money via app like whatsapp its just they also need kyc now :P

The currency will reportedly be focused on India and allowing Indian workers abroad to send money back home.

I know that Telegram's developer is working on a similar thing and for some reason I believe him more that to Facebook. They became a marketing platform, not a social network. And I don't think that mixing a chat and crypto is a good idea on the whole. Especially when your messenger is the worst on the apps market.

I don't think Facebook can provide security as it already breaks all the privacy rules.

as you know what's app is under facebook control and it must be encrypted messenger but still it's not like that. both facebook messenger and whatsapp don't provide security. I am afaid there will be too many issues on that if crypto will be released.

most of them already died though.
would you buy facebook crypto?

A new way for facebook to dominate the market of electronic payments and gather data...

Like so many digitel companies has their own currency and maybe it's good.
