Making money as college computer science student?

I'm currently attending one of the prestigious universities in united states studying computer science. I've been programming for a couple years now and have some experiences in java, python, and introductory web development. Since I'm on winter break, I'm trying to utilize my skills to create/build income stream to pay off my some of debts. Where should I start? I've been reading around the forum and I noticed that people create income streams from social media/blogging/porn-reuploads/CPA. Can someone guide me in the right direction? Thanks!

Check out the money making forum. There are loads of methods in there. Facebook groups are a popular starting point.

Maybe you can find a simple method and then program something to automate it.

IM is not necessarily need Programming skills, though with that, you can easily achieve your goal than non-techy guys.

To be honest, forum maybe not the best place to start with, all you can find here is code social media bots, more advanced things like scrape target websites then monetize in some ways, to be honest, these things are pretty advanced, not many people successfully using them, and you will need a lot of knowledge before you can really integrate your programming skills with internet marketing.

I would suggest you try some platforms like Upwork, and other side projects platforms which you may find a quick job to get some money. Search on HN(hacker news) to find similar questions, there are tons, you can see how many other programmers like you find their side projects and start make money.

Another good websites is lobste.rs, all serious programmer, you may find some ideas to start.

Other quick money making ideas may like code APPs, publish wordpress Themes, if you can, they can make very serious money of course, and quick.

Yes, with programming skill you may find many ways to combine with + internet marketing, and when you have enough knowledge, maybe you could find a way to the success, but before that, a very serious understanding of whole IM, website, etc is necessary. (which will consume you years I think)

If you can do websites, I'd suggest next route: find unsexy businesses that have ugly websites, not updated since 2010, not responsive etc. Find 100 websites, contact owners telling them they lose customers with those websites and you can improve this by building them a modern website. If you pitch them properly, focusing on the benefits, there will be someone willing to hire you as web designer.
Tip: select businesses that deal with high paying contracts, for example florists sell flowers for dollars,but construction businesses talk in thousands of dollars.
You need to make them big money to pay you big money.

Maybe you should worry first about getting the clients before getting the payment, don't you think? For starting this, simply requesting a payment through PayPal should be enough.

That depends on what's your focus. web dev, backend, front end, what language, etc.

For example: if you want to be a web dev, I would suggest you build some projects using some popular language + framework

Like, python + django or flask + postgresql or some nosql, like mongo, dynamo, etc.
And some front end, using react, vue or angular. Ember is nice, but its popularity is not going well nowadays...

Or you can build some web crawlers, etc...

One example: If you go for web dev, you can even post on github parts of a saas, and then make some money selling your saas subscriptions...

Put your knowledge into practice and search for something you like to do which helped other make money. If you are dedicated you will start creating your own ways to create source of income and probably automate them.
