Wordpress being exploited

It took me 6 months to create an awesome WooCommerce site. I had to modify the theme, wordpress files, woocommerce files etc. If I update either one of them, the whole thing collapses.

I'm hoping that Wordfence, Cloudflare and correct permissions on the server will be enough for avoiding hackers, for at least a year.

Setup a frequent backup just in case anything happened you can move your site in to time. And track server logs to find how they did it to prevent it from happening again.

For people who wish to stay on 4.x

Update to 4.9.9 - it was released on 13th December (Same day as 5.0.1) and contains all the bug fixes of 5.0.1

This saves who likes me, don’t want to update to the freaking v5.

I just thought. Because noone wants to install and use v5, these guys just exposed the security issues by themselves to the world, forcing everybody to update. There is no way the availability of v4 has been around for that long, yet no serious holes like these were discovered. This happens in such a very convenient time.

I choose 4.9.9, well, website is small, please hack me Mr.hacker lol...

Such a valid post. I updated to 5.0.1 because of these news and honestly, although I thought I would welcome Gutenberg despite all the criticsm by others, the editor is now 3 times slower and so much more complex for simple tasks like coloring text. So far, I'm disappointed.
