Wordpress or Blogger?

I'm in a bit of situation. I recently created a free Wordpress, then figured I couldn't monetize it. Apparently not even with WordAds.

And with blogger, I heard that Google AdSense can take up to 6 months to approve a site in my country, can't wait that long.

I can invest around $40 max but how do I go about this?
 
Advertise on BHW
Use your $40 to buy a domain and a cheap shared hosting.
Install wordpress and publish your contents.
Apply for google adsense, but still it need some time to be approved.
 
Buy hosting and install WordPress. I recommend awardspace it will cost you $2 for the first year. I used them for PBN site they offer decent hosting. Then buy a cheap domain, you can get .info for $1.99.
So in total about $4 for the first year. Build your site and apply for Adsense.

They probably won't accept you if you go with a brand new domain (you will need to wait a few months), I recommend you buying a website or auctioned domain. That will probably cost you more than $40.
 
Like others mentioned best way to go is buying a domain name and get a cheap shared hosting plan. Then you need to add quality content at least for 3 months before applying for AdSense. But again You need to have plenty of traffic to earn from AdSense.
 
I recommend you to use wordpress but use it on a shared hosting. Wordpress is very good cms, it is very easy to manage it even for newbie.
 
First thing is $40 is not enough raise more money
Second you need traffic to generate income, getting a good website and posting good contents alone don't generate traffic.
Strategy and time plays a huge role in it.

It's too early to worry about monetization
 
I like self hosted wordpress .
It gives you a lot of flexibility
 
Wordpress.com and Blogger.com are not good for serious and professional sites. Wordpress.org on a hosting, on the other hand, can do pretty much everything you could need. There are cheap domains and hosting plans out there, like in Namecheap, with domains for $0.88 and one year of shared hosting for $30.
 
buy a hosting on namecheap for only like 3$ a month , it's called the stellar pack or something like this
and buy a domain for 10$ or even less if you used the first time registration coupon by namecheap
install wordpress , start building your website and adding articles then apply for adsense and you will get approved in few weeks and if it took longer then you can renew the hosting for another 3$ and wait until you get approved by adsense ,, now you are ready to make money ! go ahead
 
The reason I'm in a hurry is because I'm both pissed and kinda desperate because I recently got robbed. I don't even have a smartphone, lol. But thank you guys for the input
 
Always go for Blogger.

Wordpress usually suspends the free account if any unconditional activity noticed. But you can do the same with blogger easily without any worries.
 
Know that it will be VERY tough to earn money with Adsense/WordAds. Especially if you're only willing to invest 2 figures.

Not expecting to make anything crazy atm, just planning to start with a passive $10 a day for 2k-3k traffic I can potentially bring in
