[Journey] $5000 a month with Web Design

Hello everyone!

This is my first journey on BHW. I was inspired to start by @Vanrithy's thread: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/shit-this-method-is-working-for-me.732486/.

I'm a Wordpress Developer and for many years I have created many websites for more companies from the US and graphic designs on 99designs, but now is time to start on my own. I am prepared on the technical side, but I wasn't so prepared on the sales side. So, in the last period, I have learned how much I could to prepare good scripts and to "sell" better my services.

My plan is to work in a "hybrid" method. I'm from Europe, but my market is from the US. I will search for leads on YP in some "obscure" niches. Mainly small businesses with no website or with old websites (but not ones created with free builders - if he/she used a free builder, then he/she will not pay for a website).

I will use cold emails to contact the qualified leads where I present my service and to persuade more I will add a free service (I will install a desktop notification system) if they will contact me in less than three days. I want to send at least 300 cold emails a day.

From this 300 leads, I will choose 2-3 per day with good websites (this means a nice logo, some content, and good structure) and I will create for them a new website and after that contact them to try to sell the newly created website (using @Vanrithy's method).

After the first 5 clients, to automate the process, I want to buy GSA Website Contact and I will try to concentrate on creating more websites per day.

First thing I need to do is to create a site for my services (it will be ready in the next 24 hours). I will include three complete packages (website, hosting, domain - if needed, maintenance). The first package will be for presentation websites, second for business websites and third for E-commerce websites. I will include also complimentary services: SEO, branding and social media services.

I learned a bunch of things from BHW. It is a very nice community with a bunch of smart and good people. I want to give thanks for the help and inspiration to @Vanrithy, @Stavro, @J0sh, @SpoonFeeder, @Gameshine, and @t2van.

I will update the thread once 2-3 days with my stats.

Cold emailing is hard. Tried it myself. Don't get your hopes up. But I still believe that you have a good plan. Just don't stop until you get your first client!

I don't want to go too cheap. So, I thought on something like $900 for presentation website, $1400 for the business website and $1900 for the e-commerce website. For the moment I want to concentrate on the market from the US. I will see down the road if I will try on the European market.

PS: created websites once for clients 3 years ago they love the look and they haven't wanted to change or edit it and they have been on my hosting plan the whole time these 12$ to 100$ dollar a month hosting plans you do for clients really start to add up.

also try FB ads im getting good sign ups my clicks cost are around 0.14$ targeting all local businesses and entrepreneurs in my area its a low design promo that captures attention then to get the deal for that low they have to have a 2 year or more hosting contract with us

You haven't mentioned how you send the cold mails and follow-ups but if you haven't heard about it, try using the cold mailing and follow up platforms like https://woodpecker.co, https://smartreach.io/ and https://bluetick.io/.

Each of them offer 14-day free trial and in essence you got pretty powerful tools for the automation under your arsenal completely free for the next 42 days days(signup in sequence only after you finished building your site).

You have to make sure that all the effort you put in don't end up in prospects junk folder so signup with any SMTP providers who allow you to send 300 mails per day for free. SendinBlue & Elastic-Email both fit in your sending volume.

I believe this is the first post I make in My Journeys section as I know for sure this is going to be a successful journey and don't hesitate to tag/PM me if you're stuck at something.

I wanted to contact the owner of the websites mainly through their contact forms and for they who don't have a website or a contact form, to send email through my email created on cPanel account (using Outlook), but for sure it is much better to use this specialized platforms on cold emails.

I believe you can scrape Google maps - targeting a smaller city from the US, CA, UK (Depends on where is your preferred target country is).

Your pricing model is good in my opinion, if you only install a WP theme, create a logo and set up the website with content.

I would offer maintenance fee, as WP has plugins, and you never know when a new vulnerability comes out... you'll need to update that vulnerable plugin. Script kiddies can easily exploit a WP plugin or theme, and then your client will get angry or something along those lines...

Still I believe, offering a maintenance fee is required.
