AMA: Client SEO -

I know it's been almost a year since the last post, but since you said you might keep this thread active for years, I thought I'd give it a try.

First, a fantastic thread, thank you for all the answers.

As someone who has never done client SEO, but is thinking of it, my main worry is potential clients asking for previous successes / portfolio etc. Obviously you're not in that position anymore, but what would you recommend for somebody in this situation?

Not everyone does look for it, it helps of course, but isn't required.

If you've done other forms of SEO, then you should have a portfolio of some sorts with affil/ppl sites.

When people see portfolio items, they don't know what's good or bad. If things look good aesthetically then they'll be pleased. You could show them a graph of things moving from 100-15 and they'll be more impressed than a graph showing movement from #3-#1 even though the latter would have much more impact.

Don't over think things, otherwise you won't make progress.

After reading what you do, I just realize that there is one thing I lack the most and that would be email marketing.

Although I don't think email marketing is that difficult when scaling it with SEO, can you explain your email marketing techniques and what you use? Perhaps maybe a tip on how to get started properly? How you use it to your advantage and why email marketing is very important to you?

The only email marketing we do is for our current list.

For getting people on that list, Facebook. ads and on groups.

It creates inbound clients by sending them emails from a list they opted into. Educating them and getting them on a call when they're ready.
