As the title says, this is the first site (at least the first public journey) of a niche empire I want to build, let's say 200 niche sites, every one of them generating $1/day passive. Of course, I am going to try to generate more with each one but that is the minimum.

Well, I could say this is part of my other journey, where I want to achieve $10K/month, but as I said there, I want it passive.

Since my last post there I have been very busy: exams but also my other businesses so I had no time to write.

The reason why I am doing this journey is because meanwhile this is not the only site I am building (in June I started another niche site, in July another one and finally in August another), I want to show the progress of this one.

This will be a journey about how I try to build an authority niche.

The monetization methods I am going to use are Amazon Affiliate, Google Adsense (at least for a while, I want to try by myself how an affiliate website works with ads) and maybe some other affiliate network if I find good products with good commissions.

My short term objective (one or two months (I hope less) is earning at least $1/day (I suppose from ads). This is a long-term project so I will try to do everything as whitehat as possible (I can't promise anything :P), that is also the reason I am not worried about earning a lot at the beginning, I know this niche and it has enough potential if I am able to grow. Also, since my plan at short term is to have 10 niche sites generating at least $1/daily, it is fine.

In this journey, I will be answering questions people could have about affiliate niches or Google AdSense niches, but always keep in mind I am not an expert, just I have a few sites and not generating too much.

What do I already have done?

  • A good niche: a lot of potential, not very competitive (the site with more DA has 41, but it is a forum and that post keyword doesn't match the keyword I am targeting; in average the niche DA is around 15), the #1 site is an affiliate site with DA 21 and 403 backlinks; and the average product price is around 100€.

  • I have the hosting (I bought the hosting from a BHW member and it hosts several of my sites with good results!)

  • A good domain. I found an expired domain of my niche, in the past, it was a blog, it didn't have any p**n nor pharma... The only bad thing it has some domains linking with p**n anchors but since it was a really good domain, I bought it and I will disavow all the links from those domains. Meanwhile, DA and PA is not the most important thing, it can help to understand so the site has a DA of 30 and 2 EDU backlinks from two different USA universities, also some other good backlinks from news sites. Will I lost those links? Well, I will try to find the articles they linked to, and restore them in the site, and anyway, I hope if I lose those links, to be earning enough with the site to buy some other good links!

  • I have bought the domain (yesterday I saw here a post with a discount code, so it costs just 0.90€)

  • I have set up nameservers, added SSL...

  • Added it to Google Analytics and Google Search Console (now I have to wait until all the backlinks are in the Google Search Console so I can disabow the links I don't want)

  • And of course, I have done some keyword research, so I have enough keywords to start working a few weeks.

Right now I am not going to outsource anything: I will design the site by myself (pretty easy using a good Wordpress theme and a visual editor like elementor plus some CSS) and I will write the articles (I like writting and since I will do this in my free time every day, it won't be a problem) but in the future, I am sure I will.

That's all for today, I will post once or twice per week with updates but I will answer the questions you have almost every time I see them (of course the answer to "What is your niche?" is "Sorry, I can't tell you that").

Good luck man. You'll outsource all the content and social mefia promotion right?

No, at the beggining all by myself since I am managing just a few sites so I can do all the work in my free time, but yes, I plan to do it later, once I have more sites to manage.

Not trying to hijack this thread, I'm trying to start a journey soon. Will be my first affiliate website. So the keyword has forums like tomshardware and tomsguide on first page with thread titles matching exactly. Should i continue or not?

I wouldn't touch those keywords with a ten foot pole.

Well, in my case, the only forum that is ranking is not very popular, and the post that is shown in the results doesn't have the keyword in the title nor description so... it is moreless easy to outrank.

But in your case... they are really powerful pages and you say they are targeting the keyword. Also you say it is your first site I would look for other keyword (for sure you will find others in your niche).

If not, if you keep trying thst keyword, be sure to tell is how you go, since I would love to read what do you do to achieve that!

I will pass, thinking to buy a keyword from a seller. I will focus on content and seo.

Update

A quick update with what I have done today!
  • Found a theme I like and started customizing it
  • Installed and configured basic plugins (and also Cloudflare)
  • Found a good color palette for the site (maybe sounds like it is not important, but I think the right colors in the site is very very important always!)
  • Setup the e-mail account
  • Setup the AMP version
  • Setup the AMP ads and normal ads (moreless, I have to finish them)
  • Configured Yoast By SEO
  • Created basic Social Network profiles (and configured) (so I could say I have created a few extra backlinks)
  • Organized everything in a beautiful Google Sheet document (:p)

What would I like to do next week?

  • Finish the website design
  • Finish the website configuration (cache plugin and other plugins I would need)
  • Finish AMP version
  • Design and create the best Silo Structure for my niche
  • Write at least 2 articles (around 1500-3000 words in each one)
  • Fix the bad backlinks (come on Google... show me my links on the Google Search Console...)
  • Create a few of backlinks pointing to the new articles
  • Create 2 videos (one per article) about the content I wrote, upload them to YouTube and Vimeo (any other streaming platform there?) and link to my website (I can't link directly to Amazon with an affiliate link, true? Or I could be banned)
  • Setup some automatized posts on Social Networks (I am thinking about HootSuite)
This is the minimal things to do, but let's try to do more!

Dailymotion is good.
I could be wrong, but I don't think vimeo allows links at all...or at least, I couldn't figure out how to add them, and their documentation seemed to imply no links. If you figure it out, let me know though, lol.

Good luck, I'll follow the journey ;)
Is there a special reason why you're installing AMP?
I have personally only had problems with it... my conversion rate had decreased due to the mobile version. When I tried to remove it, I had to 301 redirect all the urls and my rankings dropped for a few weeks.
Also I had heard Nathan Gotch from Gotch SEO say that it was not yet very useful and that it was not developed enough.

200 sites will be hard to build, but not impossible. Good luck with your journey.

200 sites is a big goal, you can do it!

Have you considered creating site(s) with user generated content?

Yes, I was wrong! Thanks for the info about dailymotion, I forgot it!

Good luck, I'll follow the journey ;)

Also, I had heard Nathan Gotch from Gotch SEO say that it was not yet very useful and that it was not developed enough.
The main reason was because it was working fine in one of my AdSense niches but... I have been checking more about it and there are a lot of complaints about AMP+affiliates so meanwhile, I would like to test it, I am not going to test it on this niche (but I will in one!)

Thanks! 200 sites is a lot, I know. It is not something I plan to do in short term, I will be building them slowly but I usually don't give up, so it can be interesting as a part-time hobby.

Have you considered creating site(s) with user-generated content?
No, not really. I think it can be interesting, more than anything to learn about ranking something like a forum or a QA site. Maybe I will try it at some moment, thank you for the idea!

Now, let's go with the update! I haven't been very active of the forum past week since I am moving to another city so... well, you know, it takes a lot of time to get ready everything. But I have finished the site and I have been writing a lot of content (10 articles ready!). Also, I had to work on my other projects (since remember, for now, this is a side project, it is not the project that brings the money to the table (well, right now it hasn't given anything ;)).

Anyway, apart from writing, I have been analyzing the competence. My top "enemy" is an affiliate "expert", he has a lot of Amazon affiliate sites (I know that because he follows a pattern, all the sites have the same theme just different colors and all the domains finish equal). Anyway, I am not sure if he is an expert about SEO, since he prefers to use those domain names instead buying expired domains (and no, the names are not brand names), his link-building system is just buying posts from some local newspapers and linking between his sites (since he has a lot, it helps) and not much more. I have got all his backlinks in a list and I will try to get as much as I can, also I will do the same from the other top 10 sites.

My plan for this week is:
  • Publish 10 articles (all of them written by me, around 1000-3000 words for each one)
  • Apply to Amazon Affiliates to approve my site (with 10 high-quality articles they should approve them)
  • Write another 5-10 (depends on the free time I will have)
  • Build 50 links to each article (a question for pros: if I create a link from the same site to each post, will it be bad? I am not sure)
  • Build 20 Web 2.0 (with 2-3 posts each one with around 300-600 words, it will take a lot...)
  • Create a lot (and with a lot I mean a lot) backlinks to those Web 2.0 (in this case bad quality backlinks, just some automated stuff, they are authority sites, spammy links won't harm them)
  • Maybe getting first visitors and earnings? (I am not really expecting from Amazon yet, but since I use AdSense too, maybe $1/day? I would love it)
  • I have some Instagram accounts completely automated from a software I am creating and some of those accounts are about my niche, I am not sure how to use them to promote my affiliate store but I have to test something.
And I think that's all today, I hope to hear your answers and any question you have!

Off to a great start, love the ambition! Keep it up man, I'll be following this one for sure!

Update

Long time.not updating! Don't worry, the project is not stopped, just I have had too much work on my, well, main job, and also first University exams so it was difficult to me to do things (since this is a side project for now).

Meanwhile I didn't publish any post yet, I kept writting long articles, completly SEO optimized so... yes, I think I will be ready to publish everything soon!

Also, I have been improving the speed of the site so it is completly mobile-friendly and also really fast, better than every other site of the competence so nice.

I found also my next niche (remember, I am not going to build just one site, once I have one moreless running, I will build the next one, that is why I yave all that content ready in the first one) (Note: It doesn't mean I will forget the previous niche).

That new niche won't be an affiliate one but an AdSense niche, I found a lot of good keywords for that niche with 1000-2000 volume and keyword difficulty of 6. And the best site there has 26 DA, the next one is just 16 abd... my new domain has 19 DA. So let's see how it goes (this time I will try to update this Friday).

i really love how organized you are .
imo the hardest part is to reach 20 websites , by that time the earnings will be solid enough to motivate you even more.
i once wanted to make kinda the same thing but unfortunately i dont know any seo basics so i never got into it.
good luck ^^.

Update

Long time without any update, I thought it was time to do one! As you maybe already know, I have been really busy with my main work plus my studies but I have found enough time to keep posting content and building some strong links. Right now no sales but that is not a problem since I made the site public just a few days ago (I was creating good content before making it public), just I hope to have at least one sale on this site in less than one month.

Anyway, I love optimizing sites so I have been working on my site, I have achieved a nice score and the best thing: I had that score having a fully functional WordPress affiliate site, without disabling important things or removing content (like some people do to achieve amazing scores). So, yeah, I feel really proud of myself. Maybe I will reach 100/100? I don't know, the little changes I should do to achieve it would need to disable some key features of the site so I don't think I will do it.

I am having a lot of problems staying focused on just one site since I have a lot of niches found, a lot of keywords ready (I love keyword research)... I am helping two friends to build their own niche sites and, wow, I can't wait to have enough content published on this site to start building the next one, I have already bought an amazing expired domain (49DA and high TF). I think that is what keeps me motivated these days, thinking about all these sites, thinking about researching.

Anyway, it is too late here and my update is starting to be more like a journal than a simple update post, I will try to give you amazing news in the next update!
