Summary
For the review, @Pruvia provided me with an account on his service.
Service Highlights
  • The tool is quicker than I had expected it to be.
  • Typical stats from Moz and Majestic are available.
  • It's a Windows desktop app and unless it is sending info back to a server it appears your searches are YOUR searches.
What Could Use Improvement

The service could use some instructional info on the site or the app as things were not 100% clear to me initially; for instance I expected all domains it crawled to show as opposed to just the expired ones.

Additional Information

There is a little work involved with this as you may need to try a handful of domains before finding expired domains that work for you but if you are not willing to work you ought not be willing to eat.

Also, you'll need an API key from Domdetailer to get the Moz and Majestic stats so unless you have that you'll need to load the domains into whatever service you use to get those stats.

Thanks a lot for the review, BassTrackerBoats!

This is something i'll definitely add over the next couple of days.

good luck with your new venture.
up for a trail/review copy

Yikes! $64 a month though... There are a ton of expired domain aggregates out there which are 100% free, what is this offering that they don't?? I am confused where the value of this comes from

Do you have an example? Crawlerie is one of the cheapest expired domain crawlers on the market.

Gotcha - guess I am confused at the difference then thats all

In the crawler you put the website you want to get crawled, bots crawl it and give you the expired domains that have links from this particular website. Expired domains give you list with domains that are expired/expiring at certain date.

I have made improvements the sign up process!
Now you don't have to enter your card details to create an account and start your free trial!

i just tried for the trail account. it asked for the card details for future purposes and when i entered it instantly deducted 60$ from my account!
You can create an account and start your trial without entering any card details.

If you decide you want to continue using Crawlerie you can enter your card details and subscribe, this will end your trial and charge you $64, this is clearly stated on the page above the subscribe button.

I can't run it on Windows 7 32-bit, don't want to install it on my main 64-bit machine. Do you have a 32-bit version?

Even I faced the same, it asked for card details to continue the trail... after that it deducted $64 immediately :( Can this be refunded... Did not see the option to continue without entering the card details... So I request you to kindly refund if possible... Thank you.

Got the Refund thank you very much. :) Sorry for the inconvenience

how to export domains ?

To export domains:
- Open the settings sidebar
- Click the text input below the Export domains header
- Select the folder where you want the CSV files to be stored

Now when you run the crawler any found expired domains will be saved to a CSV file in the selected location.

The download will work on 32-bit and 64-bit now. Thanks for letting me know.

Your trial starts when you create your account, there is no need to enter your card details and subscribe if you only want the trial.

If you have used the trial and decide you want to continue your subscription monthly then you'll have to enter your card details and subscribe.

If you subscribe while you're still on your trial, your trial will end and you'll be charged the $64.

This is clearly stated above the subscribe button, here:

Nice one, thank you for clarifying that for me! I will def head over and give it a try with a free trial first and see how it goes

Are there any discount coupons? I just signed up for the trial and if I like it, I will be upgrading tot he paid plan very soon.

Unable to edit my previous post so will have to double post...

Few suggestions:

* Add option to test proxies
* Is this multithreaded? How can we control thread count? If it isn't multi-threaded this would be disappointing.

Also, I tried crawling avvo.com from my UK based VPS and it says crawl finished after what seems like 3-5 seconds only and the "Pages crawled" remains at zero.
It is crawling the other sites just fine. I wonder why that is.
