For all your traders and investors out there, in what coins you're long? Day trading is a bitch and unless you're part of a market manipulation group it's almost guaranteed that you're going to lose more than you win. Unless you're pretty lucky, of course.

But what coins you're long, and why?

I will start:

Bitcoin: the mother of all coins, BTC will not go away. Even if it becomes a play thing for governments and regulators, it will always have value because it's the first implementation of the blockchain technology. Even if people don't use BTC for day to day transactions, it will always be a store of value. The young don't care that much about gold and other precious metals. The young care about the digital world and Bitcoin is the most valued asset in this aspect. The case against Bitcoin is that it started as a cypherpunk movement against the financial system, and with its extremely transparent and public blockchain government and other three-letter agencies can control it from the outside by examining everyone who's using it. This might make Bitcoin lose some value in the long term but it will not be enough to stop the massive gains it will have.

Ethereum: the favorite platform for ICOs and "tokenization". This project was supposed to be the "World's Computer" but let's just accept the fact that it's an ICO factory. This could be seem as a bad thing, but in terms of value it isn't. Expect more and more people to use Ethereum to fund projects in the future -- even if it becomes regulated.

Monero: developed in the CryptoNote protocol, Monero is a complete different monster than Bitcoin in the sense that they don't share the same source code (which is true to almost all other coins out there). Monero aims to be money, pretty much like our friend Bitcoin, but the difference is that their blockchain is completely opaque and your privacy is protected. While you can easily see the balance of any Bitcoin address by literally pasting it in a website, with Monero you can't see the balance of any address. Not only that, but when you transact pretty much nothing is available on the blockchain as metadata: your address is obfuscated, the amount of the transactions as well, and the recipient address too. Monero brings a high level of privacy that the world loves and will love. Government officials, criminals, billionaires with money in fiscal paradises and concerned citizens will choose Monero over Bitcoin, so this is why this coins has future and I'm long on it.

Stellar: now this is pretty much a bet at this point. But I believe many companies will want to use blockchain but they will not know how, and they will look for people who are already doing it and just "implement" their solution. IBM uses Stellar and IBM is, like it or not, a well known company that is respected. It's somewhat an "approval" that Stellar is useful -- even if it's not. I'm long on it, but maybe not extremely long.

So, what about you?

Currently holding some of these coins:

Upfiring: Product launch around the corner. They are busy with a third party code review and after that they will focus on marketing.

Hexx: Controversial coin. You either love it or hate it.. fork with bitcoin zero coming on August 31. Every btc = 1 bzx while every hexx = 10 bzx.

AeriumX: 79k market cap right now at the time of writing. Masternode is around $50.. what is not to love?

Bitcoin: Before I got liquidated on Bitmex. Stay out of there folks.

Chickencoin all the way for me. MCO too because it's artistocratic token only for rich dogs.

A very wise choice of coin.

For me I'm holding all my coins long term. That is because they are all worth a 10th or less of the value I bought them at. You see I too "trading" advice from somebody who works at Greggs.
