Deindexed by Bing

Hi All,

Was wondering if anyone had any experience getting deindexed by Bing?

Not the biggest deal in the world since, you know, it's bing. But, I did rank in top 3 for some decent keywords and Bing/Yahoo made up around 5-10% of my traffic until about 2 days ago. I only really noticed today since visits from Bing/Yahoo for my entire site have fallen to 0. Tried out site:mydomain.com in bing and got 0 results, so completely deindexed.

I already had bing webmaster tools set up on the site, and there is no notice of anything wrong in there. It still seems to list my site with all of its pages, but in my experience bing WMT is pretty slow to update anything.

It's not a totally whitehat site, but it's not spammed out by any stretch (still ranks in top 5 in google for most of its target kws). Maybe slightly over optimized anchor text still (I've been working on diluting it for the past couple of months), but I didn't think Bing was overly aggressive on that front.

Any chance there is some weird technical thing going on? Has anyone else had this happen with Bing and figured out what the deal was? Complete 100% de-indexing of the entire site seems a little aggro...

Still wondering if anyone has had this happen or knows steps to take. I was hoping it was temporary glitch and I would pop back into the index. Hasn't happened. Literally not appearing in Bing search AT ALL. It's only one of my sites, and I don't know of anything particularly different about that one. Still no messages in Bing webmaster tools indicating a problem, and it still claims to have most of my pages indexed, though the total number indexed has been dropping over the past several months (I haven't been removing pages).

Really don't know what's going on. Doing a site:mydomain.com returns a blank page with "Some results have been removed." Clicking on that takes me to a generic page about results being removed for malware, etc. But there's no malware on my site, and no messages in Bing webmaster tools of any other problem...

Any ideas?

Nope. My site is still completely gone from bing. No messages in bing webmaster tools... still shows the same number of pages indexed. But if I do a site:mydomain.com I'm still getting the message "some results have been removed" and nothing else at all.

I don't really have any idea what is wrong or what to try. Bing/Yahoo used to be around 10% of traffic to the site, so it's not devastating, but it is a hit.

Would still love to hear if anyone has experienced this or has any clue what to try.

Hi, I contacted with Bing and they removed my site from their "Spam(!)" list after reviewing and now my site is back again on Bing. Try to contact with Bing. Their support team is very good.

Where did you contact them? I haven't received in message or anything. I don't know where the option to contact Bing is.

Cool, thanks. Just sent them an email. We'll see if anything happens. How long did it take for you to reappear in the bing index?

Still confused about what happened. The site in question is 3.5 years old and was in bing for the entire time, then just completely vanished with no notice, or anything. Really strange.

I did get a resolution to this! I emailed bing support as someone suggested. Within 12 hours I got the following response:

Hi XXXXX,
Thank you for contacting Bing webmaster support.
I have escalated this issue to our product team. If you have any additional questions or new updates, please let me know.

Then today (about 3 working days later) I got the following:

Hello XXXXX,

Good day and thank you for your patience while we investigated the issue.  

Firstly, I am happy to provide you information that our product review group succeeded in removing the block of the site. After submitting your site to be reviewed the team has decided to lift the block. Please allow up to 2-3 weeks for your site to be crawled indexed and serving again.  

I am unable to provide you the specifics of the block as our product review team does not share details of the block. However, I wish to help you with few links and help docs which will not only help in avoid blocks but also help you to rank better in the Bing index.

So, I really don't know what caused the entire site to get deindexed. There are some paid guest posts out there, and links from a couple of sites that I own (not shady... more like, "hey, check out my other site."

I wish they were more specific, but understand why they are not. Glad to be back in the index... we'll see if my old rankings return (was #3 or #4 for my main keywords).

Really scared that this might happen to my place in the Google index now... if someone is reporting my site, or if there are big red flags on it in terms of spammy links, etc.

Thought I'd post a final update on this.

Everything was resolved with bing, all of my rankings are back where they were. I even ended up with some featured snippets I didn't have before.

I'm actually shocked this was resolved so easily... I sent a single email, got responses from humans, and the "block on the site" was removed. I made 0 changes to the site or links pointing to it. It's weird that they admit there was a manual block, but there was never any notice in Bing WMT.

Anyway, if you get deindexed by bing, definitely send them an email. Worked magic. Thanks to those who helped out!

The same issue with me. I have emailed them, and the response is "my website is still index on Bing".

And that right: when i search "site:domain" - no resultlSome results have been removed. When i search "domain name on Bing", it shows my site.

Has anyone else had this happen? Hope a good advice from you.

how you solved this? Now I have same problem - 2 sites removed from Bing. I doubt links are the problem.
