Help a Newbie.

I am currently trying to perform a research on which long tail keyword I should include in my blog posts, I find it difficult to understand which has low competition and which has high competition.

When I perform a search, I see comp = 0.65, which figure is regarded as low and which is high.

I get confused at the figures.

Thanks.

What tool are you using?

Anyway.. tools are usually inaccurate. You need to perform checks manually.

Thanks for your response. I am using keywordeverywhere addon... Is 0.65 Competition regarded as high or low?

It is considered high. Maximum is 1.

But I think that's paid listings competition not organic.

Yes that's not for measuring the difficulty to rank, it is rather for ppc campaigns in adwords.

Thanks for your prompt response. Please, Which is used to measure difficult to rank keywords?

Semrush, Ahrefs, KWfinder, Keysearch etc al use different scores / scales.

You can either run these though 2 of these tools and compare results or manually check competing top pages yourself.

KWFinder is a long tail keyword research tool with a great interface. It shows you trend, search volume, CPC, and level of difficulty in results.
