Hosting for a viral website

I have a questioning about the plans in hosting platforms ..

as an example Bluehost: there are Wordpress hosting and shared hosting.

For a website I plan to build for Viral and buzz articles

1/ is iit preferable to choose a Wordpress theme? knowing it's more expensive than the shared hosting

2/ For Viral websites, is bluehost a good one ?

if your website has 50k+ page views per day. you'd better go to DDS (dedicated server)

If it was me I would start with a KVM VPS that way you can bump resources up as you need them. Then once you hit x number of resources I would then switch to a Dedicated server. If you know the site is going to take off I would not even mess with shared hosting plans.

If you know in advance things are going to accelerate quickly then start with Virtual Machines or Virtual Private Servers (VPS).
Else to save up funds get some reliable hosting, one you mentioned is also OK, but if you need few other options:

• IPage
• Hostgattor
• Namecheap

At ipage you can get 1 year plan dirt cheap then after a year switch to some dedicated server.

If you're doubtful about getting high volume traffic, use digitalocean, so if you start getting good volume of traffic you can always move to a higher cpu/ram or can even get a load balancer. Any shared host would suspend your hosting if your load goes over the allowed limits. You can see limits in their TOS.

The main question is, if OP has the knowledge to maintain a VPS himself.

Don't forget guys, a shared hosting or even easier, a Wordpress hosting is way more friendly to none tech-savy people, than directly starting with a Linux VPS where you have to have a certain amount of knowledge in server administration in order to keep it up and running.

OP, if you think you can handly a VPS, always go for it. Because the main advantage is, having full control over everything. But if you honestly don't think you can do that, go for a shared hosting. These are mostly cheaper than Wordpress hosting, but offer bascically the same.

I saw and checked the Ipage hosting, but the problem I think would be that it has not the cPanel (it has another one called vDeck that I've heard it was less performant than the cPanel)

yeah proxified starting a business and finding out, if everything goes perfect, that there are limitations would be very bad for the business.
I talked about the shared hosting only because it's budget friendly, since I have no lot of funds to start, but the solution of scaling the hosting plan is the best one.
I guess I could scale to a VPS or a dedicated server if things go well in DigitalOcean

in fact, I'm not a tech guy but I like to test and learn everything.
I only have a question:

is the "Wordpress hosting" plan proposed in hosting companies mean that it is a VPS ? (is it a VPS, requiring technical stuff to run ?)
a shared hosting is a simple and beginner friendly site ? I've watched some tutorials in youtube about wordpress plateform allowing to manage and control the site with worpress? in the shared hosting

You advice me to start with a shared hosting ?
and can I control the site using Wordpress ? (I don't want to buy a hosting if I'm not sure I will manage it like I saw in some youtube tutorials).

actually I'm realy afraid not being able to manage the DO VPS, I think I'm gonna go with Bluehost shared hosting plan

I would start by learning the basics of organic traffic & then moving into paid advertising.
If you have to choose between AdWords, Bing or Fb Ads - I would start with Bing and AdWords.
